Nice looking bike. Would you swap your GSA for it?

I might because I don’t use my bike for commuting, nowadays we work from home most of the time. I don’t do many miles like before. But I like the boxer engine’s bottom end torque. The new 1300 has got lot of bottom end torque. The surprising thing is the gap between the 1300gs and the standard xr lot narrower than before. The new gs are so good, light and powerful. I am waiting for the new gs to arrive before i make any decisions. The m1000xr is a different bike but the seat height is a problem for me.

Good to hear. I did a demo on the 2nd gen XR and struggled to get on with the lack of bottom end and buzzing vibes compared to my GSA. Guess you have to ride it a different way. Will book a demo on the new one soon

this is what i would like to know that the new seat is fitting the previous generation ? if so i am going to change my seat with the new one. :)

Not sure whether they have made any changes to the seat, worth checking with your local bmw dealer.

I'm sorry but you didn't mention how tall you are and what is your inseam. Could you please tell your height? I like the XR a lot but I'm a bit worried, I'd struggle with my height (174cm)

I am 168cm tall and I wear 30 inch leg jeans. You could go for the lower chassis option with standard seat or lower chassis option with low seat. Ask your local dealer for a test ride. Nice bike.

@@TheOutdoorFun I rode the gen 2 and it was ok...but on the facelifted version, just like you said, it is even higher. Don't want to lower the chassis though. Maybe a low seat would be perfect.

How do you even get a test ride?. Last time I was looking at a BMW 1000RR in 2017 all I got asked by the salesman was how much am I spending.Walked straight out, rang my local HONDA dealer and test rode their Fireblade SP for over an hour.

I think it depends on the dealerships. I use Bahnstomers in Alton and they are good.

XR needs to be revved, then you’ll discover it’s a different league to a boxer.

Yes agree for top end power but for normal road use the new 1300 rules, instant power.

@@TheOutdoorFun XR has instant power when kept in an appropriate gear, tbh which bike is best it comes down to how you like to ride

Put it in Dynamic mode. It's a beast in the mode. Blew me away yesterday on my test ride. More power than I need. But Love the 50lb weight savings over my '21 R1250GS. The quick shifter on the XR is much smoother but I've been told it's because of the I4 and chain drive compared to my GS drive shaft and boxer twin torque. I actually like the power deliver and deeper seat feel of my GS, but XR weight was so nice n easy. Unfortunately a 15 min test ride with no twisties was not enough to make a decision to buy n replace mine. I'll test ride the GS 1300 next weekend.

@@awakeadventurer9198 Yes I know what you mean. I tried the dynamic mode too. 1300’s bottom down torque is lot nicer. I noticed the gap between the XR and GS is lot narrower compared to the 2016 models because the 1300gs is lighter and powerful now. Let me know what you think of the 1300 test ride.

@@awakeadventurer9198 really a test ride needs to be a minimum of two hours, when I test road an RR I rode 120 miles.
