Are you addicted to coffee? I was too. I couldn’t pass my day without 2-3 cups of coffee and when I decided to give it up, I was looking for alternatives. After doing a lot of research, I learned about roasted chickpea powder and its similarity with the taste of coffee. It also has a similar aroma. The best part is that it is non-addictive.
I use to make it at home but it is tough to roast it evenly and then grind it well. I couldn’t enjoy the texture of this homemade caffeine-free coffee.
Recently I came across this “No Coffee Powder” by @satopradhan. I have been having this for a while and love the taste and texture. It is reasonably priced and made from Non-GMO, organic ingredients. Usually, I avoid packed food items as they are loaded with preservatives, but this is free from any artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives.

RECIPE
Ingredient for 2 cups
🔸10 almonds, soaked for 6 hours
🔸10 cashews, soaked for 2 hours
🔸1 tsp roasted chana dal
🔸2 tsp no coffee powder
🔸1 tbsp jaggery powder (or to taste)
🔸2 cups water
🔸few drops of vanilla extract, without alcohol. I don’t recommend using vanilla essence. (optional)
Method: Blend the almonds, cashews, and roasted chana dal with half a cup of water. I prefer first grinding without water and then adding the water and blending again. Transfer this to a pan, and add the remaining 1.5 cups water, jaggery powder, and no coffee powder. Bring to a boil. Transfer to the cups and add vanilla extract if using.
