    Not advocating for the brand (never heard of it, not interested tbh). However, typically "cleaner" (very innocuous label) hair brands won't promise slip likely because slip in conventional deep containers is often just the feeling/appearance of hydration created by silicones and fillers that we've come to associate with successful products. Take for instance Melanin haircare's deep conditioner. folks reviewing seemed disappointed in a similar respect that a hydrating and strengthening deep conditioner did not have slip, but 'hydrating' and 'strengthening' hair strands isnt' synonymous with "slip."

    • @iamthenicheee
      @iamthenicheee Рік тому +17

      You’re so right about this. Slip doesn’t mean moisture. Cause even with all that “slip” my hair still be dry lol

    • @TruleyTalentedBeauty
      @TruleyTalentedBeauty  Рік тому +16

      And I love this! Because this is exactly why I’m testing things out. I definitely feel like there were certain feelings I’ve been used to expecting that doesn’t necessarily equate to moisture or help with the health of my hair. Kinda how I had to get used to recognizing that shine doesn’t equate to moisture or hydration. I definitely still judge products based on the after effects but I’m going to be looking out for those who have that feeling and seeing if it comes from silicone or fillers. Instead of maybe a aloe base or great formulation!

      @LethalLemonLime Рік тому +2

      silicones are amazing ingredients though. And slip is very helpful to prevent damage to the cuticles when detangling wet hair which is the purpose. Silicones and "slip" is not for moisture.

    I'm lazy. Back in the day when I cut all my relaxer out, I used to pre-poo with special products and deep condition and steam. I don't have time or that anymore, lol.
    Now I use regular old warm water in a spray bottle and some Pantene hydrating conditioner to detangle before I wash.

    • @TruleyTalentedBeauty
      @TruleyTalentedBeauty  Рік тому +1

      Listen I feel that. I think I actually did that more when I originally started. Just using a conditioner of some sort and calling it a day!!!
      Especially with time and this economy chile. Might have to go right back.!!

    There are 2 prepoo detanglers that I love at the moment. The Pattern nectar is one (soooo slippery and weightless) and then my number 1 is the Nature's Little Secret fenugreek prepoo (its like the best alternative to the african pride one. No stickiness and you literally dont need any water and the curls be popping!)

    I agree! I'm starting to use more salon quality products. It's expensive but it's worth it. I use the small/medium size bottles and a little goes a long way. I use kenra, Paul Mitchell, and aquage.

    The African pride pre-Poo feels terrible. I used it once and then threw it in the trash. I like to use Suave Coconut and Shea Butter conditioner to pre-detangle my hair.

    Did I miss something? What happened to all of the color? Like did it just fade darker from the ginger, or did you dye it a 3rd time

    • @TruleyTalentedBeauty
      @TruleyTalentedBeauty  Рік тому +4

      I put a rinse color on top of the ginger. I kinda wanted to go a bit deeper but it ended up becoming something else. So I’m just letting the semi perm at color fade out which is what you see now!

      Do you mix everything together or use the act rinse as your “spray” and then add oil?

    • @kasiahroy2082
      @kasiahroy2082 Рік тому

      @@TruleyTalentedBeauty I use the spray first and then add the oil. I put a plastic bag on my head and let it sit for about 10-15 min. It helps me detangle and adds shine. Plus, I already had avocado oil in the house. I became natural about a year ago and since there’s no one in my area who can do my hair I’ve taken bits and pieces from YT university. So far, this works best for me.

    Eh I think trying 1 ounce for the amount of hair you have wasn't a good idea! Now I know what you mean about the Briogeo conditioner, but not every brand is the same, and if it works in the salon, then it should definitely work outside
