Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore star together for the first time since The Wedding Singer in one of the funniest romantic comedies in years. Henry (Sandler) lives an enviable life in a Hawaiian paradise, spending every night with a beautiful tourist in search of an island fling. It's a sweet life with no strings attached...until he meets Lucy (Barrymore). He and Lucy hit it off from the get-go, but the next day she acts like she doesn't know him. Has his karma come around to kick him in the butt or what? Actually, Lucy has short-term memory loss so every night all memory of her day is erased. But a man in love will go to any lengths to win over the girl of his dreams, and if that means having to find imaginative ways of doing it over again every day, then Henry's up for the challenge. Rob Schneider (Big Daddy) and Sean Astin (The Lord of the Rings trilogy) co-star in 50 First Dates, which will win you over every time you watch it! - Фільми й анімація
My favorite thing about this movie is that it doesn't magically cure her by the end through the power of love or some other bs.
To me the ending showed that she finally woke up for real that time.
I know❤❤
Never thought about it like that! With some challenges one must just adapt and overcome.
And also the fact that her memory issues weren't just used for cheap jokes, but the movie actually reasoned through what it would be like to navigate a relationship with someone who had that issue. This movie was much better written than it had any right to be.
Well she was obviously subconsciously remembering him which probably made her feel more comfortable around him. She seems pretty open to the kiss he gives her in the morning on the boat.
I honestly think Drew Barrymore should have gotten some award recognition for this film. One of her best performances.
They all should have! This movie really is special.
You must do a lot of drugs.
@@xploration1437 why do you say that? You never realized how special life is? Or you never met someone like this? Which is it....v
@@xploration1437 no one needs to be high to have and opinion...... or in your case, be an @sshole.
She won 2 MTV awards for this movie
That "I'm too smart to be the governor of Hawaii" joke has aged incredibly well lmao

how so?

“But we still have you” ALWAYS gets me. 😭😭
Imagine the times waking up and she sees she is pregnant, she must have been freaking out during that time
I imagine she coped well.
The movie has shown she’s a resilient woman.
@@brettlarch8050Good catch.
This is a movie that never gets old and will always bring tears to my eyes.
movie does not make me cry i just get somthing in my eye every time i watch it
Me toooo
Beautiful film.
Just watched it again..and again..and again..and again....and again..and again..and again....and again..and again..and again....and again..and again..and again....and again..and again..and again..
Better movie than it should have been. Stupid concept but they make it work by giving it heart.
Favorite romantic movie.
Almost every film concept has potential if it’s executed properly.
@James Davis - my daughter showed me this movie after I was released from the hospital after a near-fatal car wreck. I have a severe brain injury, and have gone through the proper hospitalization and brain rehab to know the concept used in this movie to help her find a sense of normalcy is SPOT ON CORRECT. There is nothing stupid about this at all. As the romance aspect of it, yes, this is what brain injured patients need - love and patience. If you ever have any questions concerning this, please go to the brain injury ward of a local hospital/brain rehab facility and volunteer. You will need to have proper credentials to do this, and you must leave negative attitude at the door. All of us 'brainiacs' need as much positivity as we can get!!
@@lisarice4402
My comment had nothing to do with or was in any way targeting people who suffer from brain or mental issues.
The idea that Adam Sandler took a dumb idea and made it work and made it good is what I was talking about.
The idea being, getting a woman to fall in love with you because she will have no memory of you in the morning.
@@JamesDavis-vm9gw - that IS what happens. It all depends on where at in the brain the injury or injuries occurred. This movie is a very true account of what happens with memory, and the loss of it, and a hopeful regain of it. You don't have good short term memory recall at all, unless you undergo substantial brain rehab to help you. I'm very glad he was able to make it work - but that did not come without extensive research in the subject.
Not stupid at all. It was really quite clever
"Happy Birthday, sir. What are you? 200 today?"🤣🤣🤣
Lol 😂
Heartwarming to see how many other people also love this movie. It has always been one of my favorites. I think the Hawaii setting really adds to it. I love everything about it really
Without the year round similar weather of Hawaii it would have been necessary for Lucy to realize something is wrong. Imagine crashing in summer, but you wake up to a snowy winter morning in Finland, or in Patagonia, with barely any more light than at night. You'd be so shocked with a winter storm howling around the gables of your house that you'd be forced to think you're insane, not being able to make the time jump in your mind.
@@RustyDust101 Yeah, I was thinking it would be rough to be in Minnesota. It's strange that Dan Akroyd's character's research center is in Hawaii, but makes more sense for the patients' well-being than in New York, say.
Seriously? We need more of this Sandler again. The one who actually put in the effort.
Hustle and Uncut gems were both good.
I am not much of an Adam Sandler fan, but I love this movie.
best movie he has been in. Others have sucked.
@@mdlifer8847 Click is good too
Oh, so you have a damaged temporal lobe as well?
spanglish is a solid one too. Kinda like this.
@@mdlifer8847 I have to disagree. The Waterboy, mr.Deeds, the wedding singer, Happy Gilmore were all good. In the 90's he did some really good stuff, but than for some reason he started doing terrible shit. esp. from 2010-present
Falling in love is usual,, but falling in love over and over again with the same person is extraordinary... ❤️
This is the first movie I saw after my mother died. That I remember anyway. I laughed and forgot how sad I was. I wish Adam and Drew knew how appreciative I am for that.
This has to be one of the best Movies. Drew Barrymore, Adam Sandler, and the writers deserve much recognition for this masterpiece.
First time I've watched it I didn't understand a thing but when my uncle cried I know there's something magical about it. I've seen it again when I'm much older and I fell in love with the movie. I was not into romance genre but I was captivated by this movie and slightly switch genre from psychological thriller to occasionally romantic comedy.

This movie still gives me hope that love still exist out there even though it has become extremely hard to find especially with all of these social media platforms and dating apps. For this man to make his significant other fall in love with him every single day is a true a example of what love is and should be. Amazing ending and what made it that much better is that they didn't magically cure it.
Makes me cry so much
@@jeniferallan6693 yeah, it's very sad. I would argue one of Adam Sandlers and Drew Barrymores better movies of their careers.
When I first watched this movie, I wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. Very pleasantly.
You're right... Although the idea of making Roth (Sandler) at first as a "womanizer" and afraid of commitment is kinda absurd, so that he takes "his own medicine" for making the same woman falls in love to him everyday.... But yeah, I was quite surprised when I saw it for the first time, and I never get bored watching it...
Man, I wish I had a dollar for every time I have seen this wonderful movie. It really is a great movie with an excellent ending. Thanks for posting.
Who knows? Maybe you've seen it more than you realized and you just forgot 😏
...sorry, I had to take the joke about memory loss, it was right there.
💵
This movie is soo sweet. I am now gonna go and watch it again for the 800th time
The same feel bro...
Henry was such a good man to Lucy. Even before when he was just playing the field he was to Ula and his kids.
I still believe the reason why she subconsciously remembers his face is because she has a short term memory issue, not a long term, and I think the reason why the went that route is to show that for every day they were together it was helping her long term memory that her subconscious remembers and not really him
Nah. I think a different part of the brain, the area responsible for emotions tells her he is important to her and she cares for him.
So sweet I needed to watch this. A great example of love doesn't need to be perfect it can be perfectly imperfect
"Guadaliju get your brotha out the dishwasher" Rob Schneider has the best cameos
This film could have very easily turned into a very greedy interpretation of mental illness. Yet it’s leads and story give such a complex topic like this so much heart. Probably Sandler and Barrymore’s best films imo.
this is how you make someone fall in love all over again
I forgot how beautiful that movie actually is.
This movie always gets me crying at numerous parts.
What do you mean crying ? I just have somthing in my eyes ....
Drew Barrymore was and still is so gorgeous ❤️
Sike
Drew and Adam have such chemistry! I've loved everything they've made, started with The Wedding Singer
5:24 This is not an in-character smile. This is a glimpse of the very real & deep love Drew Barrymore has for Adam Sandler.
Pisces and Virgo connection@
Nah that's acting for sure. Very good acting, but still acting. They probably did several takes of her just staring towards a camera with different smiles to find the right one
@@sneescampers Drew's life is a sad story, but that doesn't change the fact that she is an actor and this is a film set.
@@trequor Nor does it change the fact that Adam is one of her closest friends and she enjoys being in his company...
One thing I love is the movie does the Groundhog Day thing where we never get an actual number on how many days we're going through. Could be 2 months... could be 2 years... it still plays.
No one cares about what the canadian thinks.
This is so relevant now that Snoop quit smoking.
Lol came here for the same reason😆😂
I love this film and bawl like a baby everytime I see it.
Those two had the best chemistry
Drew Barrymore not only makes this every-day-is-a-new-day believable, but looks incredible.
This shit got me crying, and i'm a 36 years old male.
Everyone acted so damn well in this ending.
Rob Schneider : believe it or not this is my good eye *points to bung eye
Had me in stitches….lol 🤪
wish they would make another Movie together.
this one is my favorite of the 2 so far.
The wedding singer made me Laugh and cry, but this one moved me
They did make another movie together. It's called Blended.
@@melissaolson6108 Unfortunately Blended was nowhere near the quality of this or The Wedding Singer.
@@Cool70sfreak Totally. Blended was just another one of those crude, corny movies that madison films make. Ughhhh
For me, Drew's best movie.
Let me tell you something, the way I see it Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler are good at acting together and this movie is romantic
You should look up the video talking about their story. Sandler really helped her come back from a personal darkness. Great video to watch.
You have very low standards.
@@xploration1437 how do you figure?
@@kp-fc4yr You’re funny.

What a nightmare life to live if you can't remember what you did the other day its crazy
Well, you can remember what you did the other day. It's just not the other day that you remember.
To you, the other day is one year ago.
The fact that she asks how many times she watched the video is very impressive.
Pretty sure everyone would ask that💀 lmfao
There is someone for everyone, no matter your flaws someone will love you despite your short comings
I'm not a rom-com kind of guy. But, this is one of the better chick-flicks I've seen. Sandler and Barrymore have great chemistry.
Drew just can't stop being cute.
This and "The Truth About Cats and Dogs" are easily my favorite romantic comedies. Drew has such charm.
Boo to showing Aaron effing Boone...
Second favorite movie. A knights tale will always be my favorite
I just love this movie so much. It's amazing!

This scene makes me cry every time.. so well done..
1:28 the funniest thing is Drew Barrymore was there for when the Red Sox actually won 😂
The amazing soundtrack MADE this movie and doesn't get enough credit.
Never been a fan of Drew Barrymore, but she was absolutely perfect in this role. Perfect.
And Adam Sandler is hands down one of the best contemporary actors we have. I don't care what anybody says. Lots of heart.
the bark is healing is my favorite line from the movie
I love this movie so stinking much.
This scene always makes me cry 🥲
It is such a beautiful movie
One thing they should have added to the tape after this is footage of Lucy talking to herself. It would have made it more convincing.
I cry every time I watch this movie its so good
One of my absolute favorite movies!
Me and my mom saw this movie in theaters and we cried at this part and at the end
This movie was the first date for my wife and I. It was a great choice to go see. Still love this movie.
