You’re my favourite art teacher! Your encouragement helps me get over my fear of making art. Letting go of perfection and learning to enjoy the process and wonder of art making.
Of course it's art- anything made by the artist with intention of being art....is art! A few times I muttered 'Stop there Albert it's perfect!" The benefit of the observers viewpoint..
Thanks, Brian. You're right, but still. I noticed I should have stopped earlier, as always, but in the heat of the moment, it's often difficult. Anyone creative knows it, as you mentioned. When our national soccer team plays, they instantly have 17.000.000 coaches. It's always fun to notice. Enjoy your day, Albert
Thanks, Culture Fan. It's still fun to show bloopers and successen. Both take a minute to make. Also interesting to analyse why I prefere the one over the other. Albert
Hey there ! Have a wonderful too ! What I find the most difficult when I try to produce abstract pieces, it to decide when to stop. I ended a lot of time overdoing things, at a point where it did look like just an overpainted canvas, with no texture anymore.
Thanks, Sinan. Knowing when to stop is difficult. You have to find your own way. A suggestion can be to make a painting and, after every brush stroke (or a few), you stop and take a picture. Better is a camera running. You can play back and see if you can pinpoint the moment you overwork. This is a technical solution. I learned to pay attention to my thoughts and body language. Tension or critical thoughts became a signal to me. On mental energy I continue painting, but my heart is no longer in it. That's when I overpaint. Overpainting more often will lead you to your answer or understanding of your process. Maybe this can help you. Albert
This is so fun! It reminds me of the best tip I got from an art teacher-just cut up a sheet of paper into small squares, tape them down, and paint 6 or 10 little paintings all at once. You will be so busy your inner critic will shut up for a minute and you will have fun.
So glad I could watch this! Whatever muse I had abandoned me--or I abandoned her--for a little more than two months. I lost my way .... thanks for re-igniting the "There is only fun" I am outside painting again. Thank You Albert!!!
This was so nice to hear. Joy is important. You are always joyful in your teaching Albert. I see many things in the paintings you did today...very interesting🧐
Just found your channel. I love abstract art! I'm wanting to learn and paint. I am terrified 😨. Watching from Eastern North Carolina. Learning so much from your channel. Thank you!
Goedemorgen, Ik woon en werk in IJsselstein. In Ewoud is een muur met zonnebloemen door mijn cliënten gemaakt. In 2024 wil ik ze laten inspireren door jou. Art is overal.
Hallo Betty, wat leuk, zo dichtbij zitten de kijkers meestal niet. Klinkt interessant wat je van plan bent. Wil je laten weten als het klaar is, dan kom ik graag een keer kijken. Albert
Thanks for reminding me to stay in the moment and not chase the final outcome. It’s amazing how different each piece looks when seen from afar and in a frame.
That's the whole point, Byron. Lots of people think they can not. Another question: Is your kid actually doing this? And are you supportive? Facilitate by supplying materials? Frame it? Hang it on the wall, show it to others?

Thanks, Eusulynn. I'm just glad I can help, knowing what you're going through. Just try to have fun. Albert

Painting should be fun and bring joy. Happy to watch you paint and at the same time giving others ideas on how to paint.

Comparison is the thief of joy. Exactly! I’m going to paint this and put it on my wall.

Thanks, Ashley, for sharing. I love tips like that. Your inner critic can be usefully, but some free time is also nice. Albert

Thanks, Franca. Indeed, the frame seems to show a different artwork. Interesting to see. Albert
my kid can do that
