Really glad you enjoyed this - and happy to see you doing reactions again. I stuck with this because I really like your videos, but by god has this reinforced my assumption that Ariana Grande is 'not for me'. Her vocals, swamped in effects etc, make me want to tear my own ears off!
    Keep it up though :)

Danceable, stylish retro-soul sound with nice vocals.

Holy hell how did you get this one out so fast? Lol
I've listened and loved a good handful of Ariana's albums and I agree that this may be one of her best from a first listen. A lot of my favorite artists are releasing long, bloated albums - probably to boost streaming numbers - and I love the tight, effective concept of this one that felt like a perfect length.
She's always so great at talking about the complicated feelings that come from romance and it certainly helps that Eternal Sunshine is one of my all-time favorite films! Great stuff.

Really enjoyed this LP and review. Love some of the "risks" she took by mixing vocal styles up. Music was groovy. Effects used didn't bother me at all since the all feel part of the song. Love, love, love your predictions. I didn't keep track if they all came true. 🤔

Nice video, but I have to agree with the others on the vocals. The over production just sucks any life out of them. I don't hear any humanity in them. Maybe I'm just old and out of time.

If it's any consolation I'm not old, but very much out of time 🤣🤣

Really pleased to have you back doing reactions 👍
Obviously, music is very subjective, so I'm saying this is just more garbage for the kids
    Purile manufactured rubbish.
But that is just my opinion ,
Will be waiting to see you're next reaction, hopefully something for adults 😎

Many of it is but if you listen to 'I wish I hated you' and 'Imperfect for you' they are a couple of examples of really beautiful songs, well written n emotive.. and the lead single 'yes and?' Is no achievement in excellence in terms of music but it is still a very enjoyable house inspired pop song aswell as 'I don't want to break up again' not GREAT music but is a nice rnb pop song which has a nice groove to it n good lyrics but more preference based but a good song fotmr its designated genre..all four songs worth a listen - a beatles fan

Hmmm.. find some of the music more interesting than TS, but the vocals...... no. Don't get why, as a trained singer who sings naturally, you say that you like her voice... when you *aren't* hearing her voice... it's 100% autotuned, processed, compressed, edited.. it's not a human voice, it might as well be a bot. All the humanity has been removed from it. It fact Rick Beato made this exact point last year: that AIs will find it very easy to replicate this sound, making singers redundant unless they start sounding like real *imperfect* human voices again. Compare with: There was a huge backlash against airbrushing/photoshopping all faces (esp female) in adverts to make them "perfect" - and having "perfect" figures - when people would rather see real imperfect humans.. I think rightly. Just wish music would get back to this point.
Not sure it get's the concept of "Eternal Sunshine" either... the phrase is meant to be sarcastic, a Utopian dream that cannot be achieved and shouldn't be desired. The company in the film think that people are better off with all bad memories removed, keeping just the sunshine.... whereas it just makes people less human.. as *all* our experiences make us who we are. Likewise for the relationship - it shows that real relationships are not sunshine, but more cloudy... and whether you will accept that reality or wait for the "perfect" partner.
So ironically, both the points above are linked - it is better to be real, imperfect and include the flaws, than be artificially perfect.

Dear Caroline, they say, and I also think so, that there is no arguing about taste and smell. The recording and production software nowadays are many times more sophisticated than the recording software that existed in the 60s, 70s and 80s. And they continue to develop. The problem is that today's singers and producers are addicted to vocals, addicted to video clips that present the singers externally in order to sell. Partially naked female singers and male singers Muscles that appear in video clips without a covering top. But musically, most of the time it's dance with beats, lacking in flight. Even today there are many good artists that I think you should cover and much more exciting and better than Granada, like Adele for example, Gary Bartown and more. It's such a contrast to the previous Paul McCartney album you reviewed. Where is she and where is Paul? Is it even possible to compare them? As mentioned, this is my musical opinion alone and you can certainly disagree with me.
