Sir, if possible try to build a rain water harvesting system. It will help in water conservation as well as make your life easy.

Dear Sir
When water is sufficient there due to excessive rainfall in the area - it is sad to see you and family struggling for water for 4 days.
Water storage or rain water is the solution.
You may dig a pit of 3 meter * 2 meter wide * 2 meter deep and can store 12000 litres of water which can last for many days for family of 5.
However you may require submersible pump and overhead tank and electricity use which may also be a problem in your area.
It will cost you all about 30k.
Alternative is
You may buy and place 1000 litres * 2 0r 3 nos tanks costing about 6000 rs per tank.
Interconnect each tank and then join with main existing tank with ball valve.
Seen water from road gushing down to your area.
These tanks you can easily fill by making some pit below and then thru pipe to the new tanks.
Then as per requirement you can open the tap and water will come to your villa.
The second gravity water system is good electricity free and long lasting.
Think on above and do not struggle.
Enjoy life as you planned for yourself...

After seeing your last few videos, I think some people who have been harboring dreams of settling in the mountains are starting to realize that living in the mountains is no cakewalk and certainly not fun and games all the time. Staying in homestay for a week is one thing but actually living there 365 days a year in your own home is quite another thing. There are so many challenges that one will need to face and embrace everyday and only the die hard mountain lovers can thrive in such environment. They most important thing as you have shown is to always be ready to adapt and be ready for any situation, have the presence of mind to think of new jugaads as you go along and enjoy life instead of getting bogged down by the hardship.
If you are the type who gets frustrated when things are not going your way or when basic services are not available, then mountain life is not for you. Here even basic necessities like electricity, water and food are never guaranteed. If you are looking to shift to the mountains, then do it early on in life. Don't do it after 60 because you won't be able to endure such hardship at that age. It takes many years to get used to change in lifestyle and new way of living. Those of us who have lived in the city all our life expect everything at the tip of our fingers nowadays but living in the mountains means going back to basics of village life.
Rain water Harvesting tank with proper filteration tank where in filter media like coarse sand and charcoal (koyla) could be used..embed a plastic tank or make an RCC tank..you will require it more often once the home stay is running..beware of leech and other infliction in natural water from strot..you guys are exceptional hard workers..cheers

People have been long brainwashed to believe that success is defined by studying hard in school, getting good marks and becoming a corporate slave. One can live a successful life by simply living off the land too. Infact our ancestors used to excel in this but we have lost this art and have started chasing the consumerist culture instead.

This is exactly why freshers are recruited from college campus itself and not given any time to think about what they really want to do in life. We are also not allowed to have break in academics or career precisely for this reason. You can't take a year off work and then rejoin. You are forced to participate in the rat race once you enter the "system" and then you are destined for a life of slavery.
Several generations have faced much more hardships than this. Now you can imagine the problems of living in the hills when you don't have just one convenience - water!

Cities me bhi kam problem nhi hai pani ki, Delhi ncr ka to ground water bhi polluted ho gya ab. It is very salty at my place. Aur air pollution k kya kahne. Mai bhi soch rha hu pahado me move kar lena chahie.

fix a 200 lt drum inside your boundary wall near your entrance and fix a long plastic pipe line till you home
whenever this situation occurs go bring water in whatsover small cans or pipas rather than
carring till down slope which is risky

Sir Ji, Rainwater harvesting Karo, apke garden me ek tank ( underground well ) bana dijiye, or water storage kariye from mountain streams, rain water and undergound water . this may solve your major water problems. kitchen water ko garden ke taraf divert kijiye water waste kam ho jayega.

Because, by next 10/15 years your kids will grow up, they'll leave for higher education or whatsoever reason and you will turn senior citizen. Living in the mountainsbis both exciting and challenging. Thank you for sharing all experience with such honesty. But you are strong, intelligent, resourceful and resilient. Future me jab normal kaam robots kar denge, tab aapke bachhe survive kar payenge kyuki unke paas problem solving skills hongi, and not like city kids who probably live in a very comfortable cocoon environment.
