It's time for another HUGE Mic Test! This time we recorded 19 mics plus multiple polar patterns to hear how they sound on an acoustic guitar. This is a GREAT way to learn how your mics sound!

cool test, thank you for that playing and setting up!
Our pleasure! Thank you for watching!
Incredible job! So many of the mics sounded great. The mic parts 251 for me sounded awesome and seemed to control some of the highs a bit.
What a great test you guys are the best
WELL DONE y'all!! This applies directly to me, I'm tracking acoustic guitar right now....which I should get back to...ok, time to stop procrastinating!
I love this test! What's your thoughts on the Warm Audio WA-47Jr?
I'm speaking from 10 years of 1980s recording experience and my favorite microphone was the KM84 for acoustic guitar. Silky smooth and warm. Not AKG414 warm but it really worked great. Also a great hi hat mic
The MK84 is great! Especially on acoustic guitar. I have used it on overheads too but that was a loooong time ago.
Of course, all the takes were completely usable, especially with some post processing. But for my money, I thought the Shure KSM 27 and the MicParts T25 both captured some magic with this particular guitar on this particular song.

Super cool video. I think it would be easier to digest if instead of hearing the same song for the whole video, you cut it like 5 seconds on every mic. Just my 2 cents. I'm still gonna watch either way.
Possibly. It's a little hard to let your ears settle when it's changing so fast AND trying to show picking and strumming. But that could make sense after hearing the full piece. Hmm, maybe I could put a supplement out that just has a few bars of each. I'll think about that.
Next up Charlie does different microphone test on Drums with different polar patterns.
one mic on the acoustic, but its in stereo? really dont give me what each mic does on its own
