Nice!!!! Collected several PSA timetables as a kid when you would call reservations. Those were indeed a great time to being a avgeek. Brands, logos, trademark and product differentations made the airlines fun in those days. Employees loved their airlines. PSA 182 from Sacramento, Los Angeles and San Diego left a lasting impression in regard to public safety and air traffic control. RIP to those passengers and crew.
Wow, there's so much pride in what they had to offer. Wish there was more of that these days...
PSA was an exceptional airline experience. I remember flying from San Jose, San Francisco to LA or Burbank and back, fifty years ago.
What a pleasure that was.
I now don't fly anywhere. I read and hear horror stories about flying these days. Besides, I'm too old for that crap anyway.
I flew PSA from San Francisco to San Diego for Marine Corps boot camp. I was sent home two weeks later with $500, new clothes, shoes, and a one way ticket from San Diego to Oakland on United Airlines.
@@frankdenardo8684 thank you for your service
@@georgezaharoff I got sent to Balboa Park Navy hospital a week later and I was told that I would be separated from the Corps being I was not suitable for serving.
@@frankdenardo8684 I'm sorry to read this - just the fact you tried to serve your country still says a great deal! Best wishes
@@georgezaharoff Thanks a lot
Air travel in California hasn't been "right" since PSA was merged into US Scare! Talk about ruining a fine company, with loyal customers, great service, and caring employees. PSA...long-remembered, and long-missed.
Dam how many companies did US Air gobble up? lol
They gobbled psa, allegheny piedmont, and america west! 4 airlines they gobbled up!
@@DavidBurgessMechanicalMusic And now AA owns all the names and rights they need to do a retro one again and go back to their smiley birds.Didn't they take Eastern also?
I think Eastern went bankrupt in 1991, just like Pan Am did. But Eastern did relaunch in 2015, but it ended quickly, and Swiftair bought the airline.
And @Cindy Sue, do keep in mind the AA bought TWA in 2001, which was the year I was born. I figure that aircraft is my long term interest, and Mechanical Music is my second major interest.
very good explanation on how an airline works
that was great airline that film did not blow smoke it was for real use to catch their flights everywhere all the time
Awesome promo film!!! That seems like more employee-focused and customer service-focused airline then any that are around today! At least in this country.
This is sorta creepy in a way…
The glitchy analog VHS tape effect? Or that it was from the early 80s? I'm not too creeped out by it because it's a standard corporate internal video reminiscent of the era. But I definitely see your point!
@@hmbpnz I think its because of the faces of the people and how identical it is to those FNAF vhs horror tapes
When passengers were more respectful in those days.
Now it's the other passengers who are a threat.
Shameful how behavior have changed over the years! 😔
