    Word to the wise - Classic Automations are only available to accounts that have previously created a classic automation. So if you're on the free account and have never created a Classic Automation, and you want automation, then you may be forced to upgrade your account to get access to Customer Journeys. See here - mailchimp.com/help/create-an-automation/

    Thank you so much for this tutorial. I have been trying to do this myself without success for several hours...One of the reasons I haven't used Mailchimp before is their confusing dashboard. Doesn't help when they deliberately HIDE the free options, trying to get you to subscribe to a paid plan before you even get to try things out.

My shoopify store requested double opt in for subscriptions. When customers subscribe to my website, they do not receive the welcome email , I guess the problem is my shopify subscribers are not transferred to Mailchimp system. How can I solve that?

    Greetings. Your tutorial is perfect, however - there are many more problems you have to demonstrate that I hope to solve myself. Here is a video idea. I have a friend who is just getting started with email. They have a known campaign of 7- emails and they want to add them to mail chimp. The problem is a tiny portion of the (project) will be automated, but- before solving that problem. Here are the questions as follows:
    *How do you add 6+ email messages into mail chimp ONE at a time.
    *How do you do so using a file (they call this importing.
    *How or Is there a way to give a eMail campaign (sequence of 6+) emails to other people, who can use them with Mail Chimp much like a "DIGITAL FILE" for which one could sell on Etsy as a product "for sale".
    Observation: No one is doing anything like this. Sure/Yes you can purchase a email Sequence On Etsy, but the files are in PDF file format, but again-getting them into Mail Chimp means painstakingly adding them and of course the FORMAT has be be fixed.

    • @LarrySnow
      @LarrySnow  Рік тому

      Hi there, thanks for the questions and comments. When it comes to eCommerce digital download sales, it has been my experience that it is best to let the eCommerce solution handle that. I would use Mailchimp as your marketing to promote upcoming sales, products, etc. For sequencing out emails, you'll want to take a look at Mailchimp's Customer Journeys (a paid marketing plan feature). I have made a few videos on Customer Journeys that may help - ua-cam.com/video/cAxEd5su-tA/v-deo.html, ua-cam.com/video/_re322EPDG4/v-deo.html, ua-cam.com/video/knULjoQrTmY/v-deo.html

    • @LarrySnow
      @LarrySnow  Рік тому

      Not just you. Mailchimp Classic Automation has been removed or at the very least hidden from any new accounts, but if you previous created a Classic automation, there should be a link near the top in the Journeys Overview page "Check Out Classic Automations". You may ask support and plead your case, and they may give you the link, especially if you created classic automations previously. You can create a Journey with a free account but in order to activate it you'll need to upgrade your marketing plan.

      @LarrySnow  Рік тому

      Hi Robin, great to hear from you again. Once a campaign email is sent to your contacts, you can no longer have access to/make edits to the campaign. Conversely, landing pages can be edited at any time. You can unpublish a landing page, make the necessary edits to the page, and then re-publish it.

    hi, great tutorial!, is there a way to send a different welcome email to different segments of your audience, I,e subscribers that are newsletter only, or paying subscribers? thank you!

    • @LarrySnow
      @LarrySnow  Рік тому

      Yes! Using your one sign-up form (for each audience list) to segment subscribers, you can add group options to your form that a user can select. Another option is to make one group selection hidden in the form. Other segmentation options are with the sign-up source, i.e., with a pop-form or e-commerce product. Adding tags to segment your list can be difficult with just one sign-up form. Landing pages can be used to overcome this difficulty. Just add a link to the landing page from your website.

      Thanks for your question. Using the Audience setting welcome email (first part of the video) - you only get one welcome email for each audience list, which is sent to anyone joining your list.
      However, you can control what emails are sent by creating Journey automation (if you have a paid marketing plan), with the trigger being when a person joins a particular group, then send an email. In your sign-up form on your website, have the groups be visible so that when a person subscribes, they can opt-in to that group, which then fires off the automation trigger to send the email.

      @@blendermaster7686 I don't have a video for that, sorry. However, I bet others on UA-cam have created a video that will help you. Just search for the type of website you have (Wix, SquareSpace, WordPress, etc.) + Embed Mailchimp form.

    Classic automations is either gone or moved.😔

    • @LarrySnow
      @LarrySnow  Рік тому

      Classic Automations are only available to accounts that have previously created a classic automation. So if you're on the free account and have never created a Classic Automation, and you want automation, then you may be forced to upgrade your account to get access to Customer Journeys. There is no more "Classic Automations" or it is temporary hidden. Next time when you make tutorial always make sure that the address bar in browser is visible. This is very important. So other can enter manually and try this way.

    So complicated. Don't you have a simple tutorial for welcoming new subscribers?

    • @LarrySnow
      @LarrySnow  Рік тому

      Thanks for your question. The "first way" depicted in this video using the default final welcome email is the easiest and simplest setup with Mailchimp to welcome all subscribers to your email list. It gets more complicated from there when complex automation is introduced either through Classic automation ("second way") or Customer Journeys. If you're stuck on a particular step in the process, I'm happy to help.

      If you have never created a automation, go to All Campaigns, under view by type, click on Automations, here it will say something like, you haven't created an automation, create one now, with a link to create a classic automation. If you have created an automation previously, and not seeing Go to Classic builder at the top of the Journeys page - well I'm still trying to figure out why it is missing.
