First time I’ve legitimately cried losing someone I’ve never met, this year has been tough. Losing Michael really is a blow to humanity. In a world with so much ignorant bigotry, blind hatred and lack of empathy. He was a voice of empathy, solidarity and love. It’s our job to carry on his message and live on to fight harder for a better world. Another world is possible.
Been crying for like 5 hours today watching MR and now i come here to good ol chapo to unwind and BAM! Binder got me tearing up again in like 45 seconds. God damn I miss Michael alot for somebody that I never met or interacted with in any way besides viewing his online content. Gone not forgotten
As soon as I learned that Michael Brooks had his own show I pretty much abandoned watching the Majority Report. He struck me as the strongest link there and, frankly, the most engaging personality. I'm glad to know, from all of these tributes recently, that he was also a genuine and stand-up guy. It really is a harsh reality that he's gone, especially so unexpectedly and so young. H's absence is truly felt.
Thanks for the tribute to Micheal, it was very touching. He was such a strong and passionate voice on the left. He made us feel less crazy for the things we believe and gave us the confidence to articulate them with force and conviction.
J Berg thanks - I’d *just* figured out that name refers to the bozo of Akkad, and then I came back here and saw your comment. Cheers. (That video was on my to-watch list already.)
Not accustomed to finding myself in tears right off the bat in a Chapo episode and this time not because I'm laughing so hard. RIP Michael. As for Matt's brain, as he says himself "it's good enough for this work."
Michael showed such a passion in the things he talked about. It’s infectious. He got me to start paying attention to seeing others living worldwide as your own, caring about their struggles. Like Amy said, he truly did love humankind.
Michael was a breath of fresh air. Painfully intelligent and super-fast wit. He was a warrior for the people. Don't care how corny that sounds. It's just plain true. I thought it was a joke when I heard. Now, I don't know what to think.
International, Hilarious, and Empathetic. I love Michael and I will continue his legacy leading the left with spiritt compassion and clarity. Rest in Power Comrade
He was the connective tissue between so many progressives/socialists. I hope people take the time to carry on his work, maintain, and expand those connections.
I learnt about his passing as I started to play this episode. Still hard to comprehend this, the man was on his prime. Been just binging on his impressions videos yesterday and today. RIP
i can visualize John McCain dancing around a fire, the flames of the fire dancing on his gleeful face, his tongue hanging out, glistening green, flailing in the wind.
that was my first thought, a Yak, then a Buffalo, then i realized that this is really akin to coming out of a coma, and a doctor saying, ‘draw a square.’
I absolutely want to see Biden and Trump taking these Highlights magazine tests, then the SAT, then the GRE, then the LSAT, on television. oh, and Bernie! the whole world would watch.
Michael Brooks and Matt Lech were becoming unbearable about their support of Greenwald and their censorship of Majority Report fans. It was annoying how they ignored Greenwald's support for Carlson and American Fascists. I had been avoid all of Michael's work since he started doing that. It sucks that Brooks is dead. His solo work was unbearable though. I will miss him on Majority Report and as a living person. Before he passed he and Matt Lech did a lot of damage to Majority Report fans.
I'm not going to defend his (Greenwald's) choice to appear on Tucker Carlson's show, but using that as an indicator of fascist political tendencies is silly. Brooks liked Greenwald for doing journalism on Brazilian politics and for speaking out for former Brazilian president Lula de Silva, who was jailed as a political prisoner for his great anti-poverty programs.
I can just hear Michael laughing about how absurd this shit is. You avoided the mans work after he talked to Greenwald? Do you suppose he actually may have addressed those concerns in a segment or two of his? Listen to his lecture at Lafayette and trust people to come to their own decisions about Greenwald and Carlson (ua-cam.com/video/dCWtjzKGQ90/v-deo.html).

It's on all of us to be Michael's hydra heads now. Rest in peace.

Never thought I'd be tearing up less than 2 minutes into a Chapo episode
Rest in power Michael Brooks, our brother and comrade.

Rest in Power, Michael. A crushing day on the left. Solidarity to all

Read Michael's book. "Against the Web"
rest in peace michael, your impact will never be forgotten.

I miss Michael’s laugh every day. Rest in Power ❤️
Michael Brooks was solid and strong. Terrible loss for the world.
International, Hilarious, and Empathetic.
I love Michael and I will continue his legacy leading the left with spiritt compassion and clarity.
Rest in Power Comrade
Majority Report was the first podcast I ever followed. And I became aware of Chapo when Felix was on with Michael one time. (Either on MR or TMBS.)
Same here....was a place to commiserate together and laugh with him.
that was great and meaning full display of solidarity at the beginning
He was the connective tissue between so many progressives/socialists. I hope people take the time to carry on his work, maintain, and expand those connections.
We lost a good one. Michael Brooks, rest in power.

hearing the drop after that eulogy was incredibly jarring
Michael's ideas and reflections will live in my mind and in my actions.
i can visualize John McCain dancing around a fire, the flames of the fire dancing on his gleeful face, his tongue hanging out, glistening green, flailing in the wind.
Hearing Amber--bust up those scabs, fuck the police, kick your teeth in Amber--choked up . . . shit got to me.
RIP to a real one

The test bit was so fucking funny
It felt like a cumtown episode for a few minutes there
I'm both surprised, yet not surprised, that Matt failed the cognitive test.
Wasn't esoteric enough, Matt has achieved CHIM
I thought he was merely le trolling
As a New Yorker who moved to Missouri... I live in a palace all to myself instead of paying more for a closet with 3 other people. Don't knock it.

It makes my skin crawl every time they say "champing at the bit".
I can imagine Trump watching Iranian dramas and yelling at his wife in Farsi when she interrupts him
Anybody able to explain the trend of jokes about Kasich being a hobo? Went over my head.

This video was littered with two dozen trump ads
Chapo-Trump pipeline

the whole world would watch.
Anyone have a clip of Reverend Moon at that gala they talk about?
What's wrong with Virgil? He sounds ill.
He's been dead since March
Trump's sandwich would be room temp wonder bread with cold baloney and mayo. Inedible.
Something your least attentive babysitter would sloppily throw together when you were like 5 and too little to complain.
Gross. I'd throw it up.

This take is truly garbage. Hot, slimy garbage.
