Hi mate, a very interesting field again! It is really huge! I can imagine the hard work fighting the stubble in the August sun. Congrats on your Roman coin(s)! Nice landscape as ever and I love Mr. Tweed's finds as well. I look forward to seeing more of this field! Cheers! David
Hi Michael, what a lovely permission and very interesting finds ,plenty more to be found in there when the stubble has gone the piece that Mr Tweed i would say it is a Draw Handle and the romans you found are nice l0o0ts of different items great video all the best Mart, c u on the next👍
Hey Marty, thanks buddy. Glad you liked this one. It was just one of those days where the research had paid off (that rarely happens in my case)! Also, I think it’s a draw handle too but out in the field even the most mundane of items can get you’re imaging going. ATB 👍👍
Thanks Linda, it makes me happy to know other people enjoy watching them. It’s hard work filming them but comments like this make it all worth while 👍👍
Great stuff Michael, and love that silver denarius, Bobby 🙏 Ps. Well done on your opening PTC - 🎬🎥 using the dappled light to diffuse the early/harsh sunlight...
Haha, I love that you noticed that little detail. Not many do trust me! Thanks for watching as always bud, can’t wait to get back in those fields but there is so many to do at the moment 😩👍
@@OMA_MetalDetecting Thanks mate - yeah, as a sound guy, I've spent a lot of time watching what cameramen do... (releives the boredom I guess... 🤣). and - it's much better to have too many fields than not enuff, hey wot?... 🤔 🥸
15:56 potentially part of barrel tap key, rather beaten up. Also, I'm happy to let you borrow my book, Pottery in Archaeology by Clive Orton & Michael Hughes. It should ID that pot sherd. Chris @ D2. Well done, both 👌
Thanks Chris, I’d be very happy to check out that book for sure as along with metal finds I do have a soft spot for pottery as I believe it reveal so much about a site. Thanks for the very kind offer buddy 👍👍
Greetings to you too my friend and welcome to the channel. Thank you for watching and commenting. There is plenty more to come so don’t be a stranger. Good luck on you’re hunts 👍👍
Another super entertaining dig and what a thrill to find your first Denari. I only ever found one on a rally years ago but t was such a buzz, Trajan I think. Lovely Lizzy groat from Mr Tweed, presumably using the same programme as yourself? Your clearly have a lot of patience to do such a large field but it really paid off! Cheers Andy
Always a pleasure to get a comment from you Adrian and I’m glad you liked the episode. I feel like I’m getting better and better with each one that passes and I’m happy that you think so too. ATB 👍👍
Hi Michael, nice looking field you have there. I'm sure you will get more out of it once the stubble softens and gets harrowed. Good looking Romans as well. Good hunting 👍👍
Thanks Steve, we are very excited to get back in there for sure. Hopefully the rain will rot this stubble abit so we can get much lower. Really appreciate the comment buddy 👍👍
Hi Michael, what a glorious day for detecting! A great couple of Romans, a cut half and artefacts galore! I do think that little handle that Mr Tweed found is a drawer pull, probably Victorian or Georgian... thanks for the lovely video, take care and all the best, Julie 😀
Thanks Julie, great to see a comment from you again 😃 I do watch you’re lovely vids too and yes I think you’re right about the draw handle. How does this stuff get in fields I’ll never know?! Stay lucky buddy 👍👍
Yeah it’s crazy to look at it like that Don but as I always say, if you go looking for it, it’s usually there if you look hard enough. Thanks for commenting, much appreciated 👍👍

I read all comments John however, I must stress that regardless of you’re view or mine I will not acknowledge it here. This is just a little channel about metal detecting and I want to keep it that way. I have never met you or Cleggy and therefore I will not comment. I appreciate you’re kind words about the channel but please keep it at that buddy 👍
Enjoyed the video and, the lovely scenery . Very nice Lizzy hammie and Roman denarii 🤩. Well done guys. All the best Phil💯👍 ( is there a brook/stream at the bottom of the hill🤔 )
@@OMA_MetalDetectingI was thinking water supply for , bath house etc .Could be a leet from the river to a settlement ,villa 🤔 . Have you found a lot of Roman pottery ? ,sorry I'm new to your channel ,and haven't been able to catch up with your previous streams ( yet ) Phil👍 Ideally an underground spring
@@Flint-I love you’re thinking Phil… you need to come out in the field with me!! Not a lot of Roman where I am which makes finding it all the more special. Thanks buddy 🙏
For anyone that wants to know how to clean silver, it sounds gross but take some kitchen foil and spit on the coin. Idk why but it brings silver out very well. Stop rubbing the coin when it starts smelling of rotten eggs tho
Certainly did Tom. I pretty much Forager exclusively now although I am working on another program in the background so putting that through it’s paces as well 👍👍
I haven’t considered banning him but I have considered only letting him use a fisher price detector as a handicap. He will probs still find stuff thought knowing him 😂👍
I wonder if you edit away all found nuts and bolts lost from farmimplements, I know from experience how hard it is to find lost parts in a field even if you know roughly where you lost it. Or is it possible to set your detektor to not react to Iron?
Great question! The better you’re detector is the more you can customise what each type of metal sounds like. I rarely dig tractor parts etc because I have assigned iron a particular sound. It still catches me out from time to time though 👍👍
You gotta click bait a bit more at least put hammered/silver in the thumb/title not that i like that, but that's youtube for you. I respect you for not doing it but if you want to grow...
No don’t be sorry Rob, all comments and suggestion are welcome here my friend. The reason I don’t put that stuff in my titles is because I’d prefer for people to be surprised. I know that it will get me more clicks and views but I’m after the long term viewers who know that if they watch one of my videos there is a chance that something good will come up just as if they were there with me on the day. The hammered are exciting for you, I know, but I kinda liked the leather mount thing. It has character. Beautiful landscape!
