Most of them are not struggling. They started paying t inflate views and subscribers and tanked their channels with advertisers. You see an in video sponsored ad. The channel is 99% of the time a fraud. making nothing off their uploads. Because they PO'ed advertisers with their BS. UA-cam treats me WELL here. I get paid. Make enough to not have a job other than youtube...............with 30,000 subscribers. This is my full time job
So far the water tester is looking pretty cool. I haven't had it out yet, but it definitely distinguishes between the tap water and RO water in my house.

I used to tent stakes on tent when I was younger. I saw a youtuber use long lag bolts driven in with a small drill or impact. Might want to do reviews on hacks like that.
I remember one of the big vloggers on YT, Ronetto, this is many, many years ago when YT was just getting going. He worked out a deal with the original owner of YT, to start, revenue sharing. Back then, it was just pennies, and it worked. Now, Google is the owner and they are, greeeeeedy.

Well you know at one point YT changed the percentage they keep on ad revenue. It used to be they kept 30%. Then they changed it to 45%. We noticed the loss of revenue probably year and half or longer ago. Not that we ever made that much lol, but it was still noticeable. Not sure it doesn't have something to do with the whole shorts thing. We, too, try to keep our product reviews relevant to our channel. And we aren't fans of the "sponsors" in vids we watch. We generally fast forward through that stuff. Nice chat. Hope Lindas eye surgery goes well and she has a super quick recovery with no issues!

Some of my favorite You Tubers have quit You Tube because the revenue for the creators is down so much. In addition, You Tube puts so many ads on now. I would consider paying You Tube for ad free viewing, but its not worth it to me since so many of my favorite channels are now gone from You Tube.

I like your common sense videos. Wind at your back theory is a good one. Years ago I was a general aviation flight instructor. I was several miles from our departure airport and my student was turning green and about to barf.. We raced back, but it took forever because we had flown down wind to the practice area, and now had to crawl back to the airport because of the wind. Lots of sense in what you said... Ride your bike into the wind initially, so you can coast back home. After that, I always flew into the wind to find a place to do air work like stalls... etc... you are a common sense person, and that shows in your subscriber numbers...

I rented a motorized bicycle for a ride in the Palouse, after watching your bike reviews. I needed an e-bike to stay with the youngsters. It was still a bit of work. Pedal-assist will extend the number of years I can still saddle-up.

As much as advertisements are annoying I look at it as a way to get free content for those of us that can't afford to pay for it on a regular bases or just to cheap to want to pay for it. The algorithms are suppose to give us ads that where interested in but some times it fails miserably.

There are so many channels today. Phones that create good videos and apps that do away with the need for a computer to edit a video , make creating so easy. Everyone has a channel now . We will call it video facebook. Ceators do the work and UA-cam makes the money. AND, UA-cam chooses who they share our videos with. You guys have a good following but the ads are now shared with too many channels

Was there anybody other than Indians there in 1849? That inscription looks more like something a hobo would have carved in 1949. There's a composition by Harry Partch from 1940 titled "Barstow" with lyrics all from hitchhiker inscriptions on highway signs. Partch was a hobo himself during the depression.

Thats a very nice area you're riding in, the temps here in South Texa have had cool mornings about 55-58* when I leave at 6:30 AM but mid to upper 70's in the afternoon but beautiful spring days
Rick, for some reason your video is the first that I have seen without any adds throughout. I don't pay to watch any without the adds. Also, I watched a video where the guy named the top 12 cargo trailer conversions and he mentioned Gone again as one of them. Hi to Linda and good wishes on the eye surgery.

I agree, the reviews are always very informative that you and Linda do and pertain to what your subscribers are interested in. I hope UA-cam fixes its payments to the video makers.
It's sad that YT has changed the way they pay their creators. And the odd thing is that no one seems to be able to get an answer on exactly how or why. That being said, I don't mind creators doing sponsored videos or reviews unless they become nothing but an infomercial.

Thanks Rick for what you and Linda do. I am a little bit of a tech nerd so I like watching good reviews on things. As much as advertisements are annoying I look at it as a way to get free content for those of us that can't afford to pay for it on a regular bases or just to cheap to want to pay for it. The algorithms are suppose to give us ads that where interested in but some times it fails miserably.

There are so many channels today. Phones that create good videos and apps that do away with the need for a computer to edit a video , make creating so easy. Everyone has a channel now . We will call it video facebook. Ceators do the work and UA-cam makes the money. AND, UA-cam chooses who they share our videos with. You guys have a good following but the ads are now shared with too many channels
I think you have a point about the ads being shared with so many channels. That makes sense, but they sure put enough ads on our channel!

UA-cam is keeping more for themselves while running more ads. Or maybe more are paying for ad free? Tricky youtube, they countdown when you can skip the ad, but they are now tricking you with a second countdown. 😂
I didn't see any automatic ads play on your video like we see on other channels.
You'll just see the regular ads placed there by UA-cam because I refuse to insert ads into the video itself.
Was there anybody other than Indians there in 1849? That inscription looks more like something a hobo would have carved in 1949. There's a composition by Harry Partch from 1940 titled "Barstow" with lyrics all from hitchhiker inscriptions on highway signs. Partch was a hobo himself during the depression.
Yeah, this area has been visited since the days of the early trappers, so 1849 could be a possibility, but 1949 is more likely. Thanks for mentioning Harry Patch, I'll look him up.
