Can’t wait to try this! I am a novice quilter and I have a question regarding jelly rolls. It may not pertain to this item, but if we’re to be washed, will the fabric not shrink? Will that not look awkward especially when we make items like placemats? My understanding is that jelly rolls cannot be prewashed before quilting. Please clarify. Thanks!
Hi, I don’t prewash fabrics unless isn’t linen.
I think making a placemat using this method is a good idea. It may shrink so I would add about 1/4” all the way when trimming the quilted place top.

@@AN-fh9hq I don’t worry about batting. All quilted projects shrinks when wash.

There are different types of foam stabilizer such as Soft and Stable, Bosal In R Form, Pellon Flex foam. You can search online.
I noticed your machine has automatic speed control. Do you use a foot pedal to start stop when sewing binding?
It doesn’t have such thing. I use a foot pedal. 😊

(And FYI, on the description page for that pattern, the website listed for wool felt is missing an “s” at the end of “expression”. So, of course google was trying to send me to some not so good website. I figured it out but you might want to correct the spelling for other people, when you get a chance. No worries!)
