Maxon FX: OD808X Overdrive Extreme

From Maxon's popular Compact Series of stomps comes their souped up 808, the OD808X. This angry red beastie crosses the line of amp-pumper (808) into classic overdrive/distortion. The OD808X boasts harder and tighter clipping and an extended high range, which, to my ears, puts it in Treble Booster territory when used with an amp going into break-up.
Check out the vid where I use a Tele and SG and make your own mind up. I like it for in-your-face stuff as it has that midrange push that really works on stage.

Honestly? It's purple, sitting on the shelf behind my desk and I haven't plugged it in for over three years. I'm no help, sorry. Best to ask someone out there who's using it a lot. This page is about the Maxon OD808X.
