Mint a Genome NFT (AlphaCare: Episode 4)

- Health data is among the most valuable types of data, and using blockchain technology, patients can earn a passive income from sharing it with researchers and clinics. In this episode, I'll show you how I minted an NFT (Non-fungible token) of my genome that I sequenced from AncestryDNA. I used the Polygon and Ethereum blockchains to do this, and it's currently listed for sale on the OpenSea marketplace. NFTs are just getting started, they enable property rights for the meta-verse by artificially inducing scarcity on an otherwise infinitely replicable resource; data. We are just at the beginning of the NFT revolution and we have a lot to discuss in this video including how Ethereum, Polygon, and Genomic visualization works. Get ready for Python, Javascript, and Solidity programming. Enjoy!

Saw your interview w/ Yannic. Took a lot of courage. Everyone makes mistake -- don't give up! Keep going, man!
Hey man, this was really good. Very interesting stuff. I honestly clicked on this just to out of curiosity but your content and delivery style kept me through the video. I have been meaning to learn more about NFT's so this was an awesome summary. Thanks man, keep up the good work and happy to see you posting again.
Happy to see that you are posting videos again! I have always found your content very inspirational and educational
Wow, this is very insightful and clear. Thank you! I just want to ask what would you do differently if you made the actual genome (.csv file) as the NFT and not the image? Additionally, how would you encrypt this genome file to prevent breaches?
Great to see you Siraj! Your videos are as informational as ever, though i did miss in-video memes a bit.
On the healthcare NFT front. W.r.t your example what do you think will be the motivation for hospitals to adopt this architecture, when currently nothing stops them from sharing a patients data ?
Hang in there brotha. You’re videos are clear and informative. You’ll make a come back
what happened
Always cutting edge. Thank you.
Very Informative
you're my hero dude. Admire you.

Very amazing and inspire
He's back baby!
Thanks Siraj. V nice
can we nft to create a buisness card and share it via qr code
When you realize owning stuff doesn't bring happiness so you try owning virtual stuff instead xD
How do you make personhood NFTs?
Great question. I’d mint a collection of my government identity documents and social media logins. Maybe also access to my 24/7 biomarkers. It’d have to be a really high price though.
@@SirajRaval think more understanding is needed to the meaning of personhood.
Wow. He's back.
You are the good kind of crazy!
Finally i am first! I love you man!
so if i post some copyrighted image or a whole movie or song, that's just mine now? and if someone goes and buys that NFT thats now a legal purchase even tho i didnt own the rights in the first place? seems like just a bunch of people randomly declaring they want to make up their own rules.
no... federal law still applies
@@LaughingBull so then what's the point? He said it uses algorithms instead of lawyers. But clearly you still need lawyers.
You can still sell it, but you have to prove to buyers you are the originator. So if I mint a collectible super Mario, people have to believe I’m Nintendo. That’s difficult, but if Nintendo does it; it’s worth a lot more, they can prove by posting it from their unique social channels
Not sure if you want to be asking Siraj, of all people, about copyright 🙃
Short answer is yes, legally none of this new NFT stuff holds water when it conflicts with legal precedent. The main reason you can get away with it is because it’s still new enough that there aren’t any federal regulations around it.
complexity for the sake of complexity???
what
chill out bro

Hi Siraj. You showed your private key, I only managed to save your 10 MATIC. Someone faster than me took their ETH. Hand me your wallet to return your MATIC.

@@SirajRaval Siraj, you exposed your private key in the video, anyone can steal your funds with this key in hand. Please create a new wallet and never use this one again. After creating it, give me your new address to send the MATICs.
