    Curbless shower Transition, EASY. Mosaic tile hack. Curbless, zero entry or Barrier free shower, . The shower floor area was depressed by the carpenter to allow enough depth to use drypack to create the slope to the drain for this barrier free shower. An alternative to a mud bed would be a foam tray of the correct size. This shower was built using Laticrete Hydro Ban Board and sealant and other Laticrete components and Ditra XL on the main floor. The same can be achieved using Schluter Systems or other shower system manufacturer. Also in this video is the installation of the floor tile, shower floor tile and wall tile. This result is a shower that has easy access and has no curb but still completely waterproof. All tile installed by Sal DiBlasi, Elite-tile Company, in the Boston North Shore area. I like your solution to the glass problem. I haven't seen any other video use that. I was going to say "nice work", but all of your work is nice!

    Sal you always know what’s happening in my life. You made a video a year ago that was titled “ always protect your work” or something like that and the day before my drill fell over and dented the schluter quadec on the curb. Im about to do my first curbless shower and I hope it works out.!

    This was just in time for my bathroom remodel! The only difference I have is that I'm using penny rounds. Assume the process is basically the same-cover 3/4 of the mosaic sheet with the membrane, thinset down, lightly flatten the other side so it doesn't come through the tile?

    Hi Sal, love your videos.
    Could you tell me your go-to Grout for outdoor terrace floor tiles? Size of grout is 5mm.
    Many thanks!

    Two type tiles don't really go together, can the large tile be extended into the shower pan and use envelope cut to create the slope for the draining?

    how did you connect membrane to the mosiac? glue?

  • @Soandsoguy
    @Soandsoguy Рік тому

    Sal, did you only put membrane on the first line of mosaic sheets? Or where did you stop? Also how do you cut a mosaic sheet that has the added membrane and how long does it take to dry or be ready to cut amd place?

    HI Sal, awesome work as always. Do you suggest always pre-flattening the thin-set trowel notches when using tile on a backer?

    • @SalDiBlasi
      @SalDiBlasi  Рік тому

      No, usually thinner mosaics and glass tile.

      You wore two types of knee pads in the video. I was referring to the blue strapless pads you were kneeling on, not the Proknees.

    I suspect that getting the miters to close up nicely when the bottom is put on is going to be a problem.

    What size is the track to accept the shower glass panel? thanks

    • @4PFLikeBaby
      @4PFLikeBaby Рік тому

      They’re usually around 5.5 feet to accommodate 5 foot tub surrounds. you need to cut the track down to your dimensions. Any prefabricated glass door will be that way. (With slides)

    Back in the day we would call it a handicap shower

    • @dallinbagley4486
      @dallinbagley4486 Рік тому +1

      Well more and more people qualify themselves as some kind of handicap or another. 😂
      Y’all must have done a good job back then because the trend took off.

    • @SalDiBlasi
      @SalDiBlasi  Рік тому +2

      Calling it a handicap or barrier free shower requires a very particular set of rules for accessibility. Calling it curbless requires none.

    Sal can you put a 3x6 foot 10mm thick tile on a ceiling?
    If so how would you do it?
    If not,
    What is the biggest you can do?

    • @SalDiBlasi
      @SalDiBlasi  Рік тому

      Sure you can but you need training to set those tiles, regardless of where you want to put them.

    • @williamsauder1823
      @williamsauder1823 Рік тому

      You'd need Ankers

      @SalDiBlasi Hi Sal, thanks for the response. Can you elaborate on the type of training or installation method you would use. Or possibly do u have a video? Worse case maybe a paid phone call could be had for your time and advice.
