Phaser ShootOut : MXR Phase 90 vs EHX Small Stone vs T-rex Tonebug Phaser

Here is a quick and dirty shootout of the MXR Phase 90 (Block Version) vs the Electro-Harmonix Small Stone vs the T-rex Tonebug Phaser
The guitar is a MIM Strat fitted with humbuckers at the neck and bridge position (Seymour Duncan little 59 and Seymour Duncan JB) and a Texas Special in the middle. For the greatest part of this demo you are hearing a combination of the neck and bridge pickups. Since humbuckers tend to overload the Phase 90, I sometimes switch to single coils during this video (ie at 5:16). Imho, the Phase 90 sounds much better with single coils as with humbuckers the effect is a bit overwhelming. The volume boost also pushes the amp harder and thus you hear more overdrive with the phase 90. The T-rex sounds very nice and is very flexible but there is a volume drop for a wide range of the depth knob, especially in the vintage mode. The small stone is my personal favorite. The only thing that i don t like about it is the logarithmic rate pot and the fact there is clock noise if there is no buffer placed before it. Note that I barely use the color switch at the UP position as the effect was really strong.
The OD part comes courtesy of an MXR GT-OD, a Tech 21 Sansamp Character Blonde at the verge of breaking up provides the "amp" platform while the reverb comes from an old friend, the Boss RV-5.
I tried to cover as much ground as possible within 10 minutes, please excuse any mistakes and sorry for the repetitive playing, i thought it would be the only way to get a good idea about all three pedals.

I think I have heard a significant volume drop on the tonebug phaser in more than one video, furthermore I´ve been reading too many accounts on knobs breaking off on EHX pedals making them not that roadworthy.....think I´ll go with the MXR.
