Another tip. Power is universal to all built structures. So you can start off building a "power array base" , with one small room as a starter base. This will mean your Main Base doesn't have to be cluttered up with extra corridors for your solar panels.
Unfortunately the dumbbell looking ship in my game has 4 blue drones that will kill you very quickly since you don't have any way to destroy them when you're first starting out. I eventually got the laser, but they are a pain to hit as they work as a group to hit you from multiple angles.
I just rage quit this game, but want to go back to it. They should change the name to "Seek Fluid Intake" since that's about all I was doing. It's hysterical to die after not drinking water every 5 minutes.
4:34 Why wouldn't they, considering this ruins tech progression with exploration to unlock specific tech? You find one piece of anything, and suddenly you can craft it, even when 3-4 are needed. Also, I'd say THE most important unlock early is Laser Tool, and all you have to do for this is to fly past a broken dumbbell in a straight line and enter the base at the side of an asteroid. Enter, left, right and it's right there on the table. Having a scooter is nice, and it makes exploration easier, but a laser tool is your only defense against blue and green drones (at least early, dunno about later) and unlocks crates with massive amounts of resources as well as required to obtain some resources in the caves. And while it requires Nickel that is scarce in early game, it's right there in the same cave and tool is totally worth it.
The location for the laser tool is called the Old Hub Station. Hit ESC to view coords (X -257522, Y -94024, Z 33906). You can find a couple of early nickel asteroids inside one of the broken dumbbell wreck and an entire field of them up, over and past the Vehicle Manufacturer Cave. (X -286580, Y -155950, Z 47365)
Don't bother building the skipper, it has no storage, no oxygen and can only go about 4000 meters before the power cell needs to recharge. I haven't done any testing but I feel that the T3 jetpack is quicker too.
The hook tool is faster than the skipper. If you're not playing around with that thing you're missing all the fun zipping dangerously through space. lol
@@stanleyclark923 I can't how much I've found in total so far, just know I've built 2 teleporters which requires 3 each plus some other things, and only have 6 left
@@stanleyclark923 holy shit, if you're not using the hook tool, you are a damn fool! I scrapped enough to upgrade to T3 battery saver and T2 speed and distance and it uses about 10% battery to pull you 700 metres in like 15 seconds
having trouble finding the last of the summoner frags. have the base thingie built. just can't seem to find the last scan. went all through the vehicle cave with the bad guys and I think I cleared it all. didn't see anything pinging on the scanner. hate to have to look it up but I might (and yeah I got the one on top of that asteroid)
go back into the red cave. when you get to the big room with 2 shipping containers, their is a frag way up high on the pillar of goo(?) or if you are looking at the container on the left as come into that room, there is a small room with a drone and the frag is down below. hopefully this will help
@@scuba5teve149 finally got it. got the ship and the first 3 upgrades. still need to get the last scan of the power cell charger. I can see them behind a door in the theta 9 hull base but I don't have that particular key card just yet. Need to go exploring in those other nearby bases I suppose. I have a ton of dead cells back at base.

I was wondering what was in that broken dumbbell-looking ship, now I'm for sure making a trip! Thanks for the tips.

You can just mine any size ore with just your scrapper. If you don't want to waste resources on batteries etc, early on.
early game yeah. especially iron, ice and coal. copper you might want to use the tool because 02 and time are also resources.

@@AsuraCascade I think I found more red celestite either in the yellow dome or the research facility dome near the warp gate.
