Sven Väth's renowned party series Cocoon Ibiza has been making history at Amnesia since 1999. In celebration of its 18th year, MixmagTV sat down with Sven and fellow techno titan Richie Hawtin to chat about the history of the party.
In the intimate interview, the pair discuss the revolutionary Monday night party, their long and colourful friendship and more.

Went to a cocoon party in 2004 summer.. sven playing in terrace , villalobos and richie b2b in the main room... first and only time I took a pill.. club closed about 8am, wasn't invited to the afterparty =( haha...but went to Space and saw Carl Cox from 9am till 12pm until I crashed... best night of my life ...
you had a great time, so how come you didn't carry on clubbing?
I did.. but not with drugs, (well only weed, I dont count it as a drug).. I got such a bad and weird comedown, that I sort of developed a kind of respect for HardCore drugs..I am a very big house music fan, I play in my hometown (Mty, Mexico) on the weekends and even opened a club with some friends for 3 years (played there evey weekend) .... =)

Great to see them after so many years! I lived in Ibiza at the time when Cocoon started and it was the only place I used to go periodically. For me nicer with fewer people. Amazing music, atmosphere, and non-stop dancing! First time I saw Richie Hawtin and became a fan although I was a Psy-Trance freak.
