⁴ᴷ⁶⁰ Fire Damaged R142 Subway Cars 6346-6350 being towed to 207th Street Yard

- At 3:15 AM on March 27, 2020, a fire set by an arsonist engulfed the second car of a northbound #2 train. Garrett Goble, the Train Operator, heroically evacuated passengers from the train and to safety on the street level. He passed away due to smoke inhalation later that morning.
Almost two years to the day after the 110th Street Fire, the train involved in the incident was towed to 207th Street Yard. R142s 6346-6350 sustained extensive and irreparable damage when an arsonist set a shopping cart on fire onboard the second car of the train. 6347 sustained catastrophic damage, with the interior being completely gutted and the carbody completely warped beyond recognition. The surrounding cars, 6346 and 6348 also sustained pretty extensive damage on the ends coupled to 6347, though the rest of the car remained intact for the most part. 6349 and 6350 being cars 4 and 5 of the consist during the incident sustained lesser damage but alas will be taken out of service as the accident has rendered the entire unit completely inoperable.
Rest In Peace to Mr Garrett Goble the hero. Many blessings will be given to him as he is still in heaven. God bless him.

Garrett Goble serves as an example that nobody needs a cool costume or superpowers to be a hero, it's those who risk their lives to save others that makes them real heroes

There was only one subway car that was severely burned, and that is 6347. As a lead car, 6346 was scorched at its rear or Number 2 end. Also, car 6348 had some damage at its end. The other cars are just smoke-stained from the gray smoke that billowed through the 110 Street station. They were not badly damaged.
they had water damage and smoke damage tthis set is gonna be used as spare parts will not be used in passenger servce ever again

Guys this set of R142’s will not be coming back to service as 6347 along with the components of the other cars are damaged beyond repair. They will be stripped down and used for parts

110th Street is been repaired on 2022 because a work train is towing a damaged train from the same station on 2020
Unforgivable the bums need to be permanently removed from the subway for this atrocity.
I believe the some of the doors are tape together because A. The fire happened either when entering or opening the doors Or B. The door constraints disconnected because of the fire which would be reasonable as fire stops alot of electronics and other stuff

Yes, the left side had some burned tiles but the right side got worse.
