Changing dates and times is a sign of the end times, isn't it? I get frustrated by the fact that just opening one of my own documents and closing it again changes the date. I wish to keep the original date no matter how often I use the document.
For IT dates would be useful in many searches. I mean if I search for a problem in samba I don't ever want to see results from the 2001 because its most likely completely irrelevant to the current version.
OK, which of the 5, I think it is, possible dates would that be? The answer might be any or all of them. So which should Google choose? It can't. As as I also say in the video, people that use date filtering often miss the content that would actually answer their question.
@@Popeii1 Absolutely. And a) Google doesn't know the difference in importance, and b) any date relating to the drivers page could be completely wrong, or at least very misleading. (NOT SAYING THEY ARE, just that they could be, and since Google can't tell the difference, it can't know what to do about it.)
@@askleonotenboom Remember the question was "Why isn't the creation date posted in search results?" There is a record. You post it in your results. Histories are permanent so the complete timeline could be posted? Just "Asking Leo."
I'm sorry but this video makes absolutely no sense. A web page/YT video is authored. The author provides content, including facts and other miscellany. One of those facts can be the date they authored the material. It's just one of the facts contained in the content they've authored. In the context of what they wrote, just like any other "fact" in the content, it means what it means. When you opine that dates have can't be trusted is effectively saying nothing on the net can be trusted; that may indeed be true but it's not for you or Google to decide that that I can't be trusted to know what I can or cannot trust. So, address the fact that dates are not included. Do some research, ask Google why they don't include dates. YT does, it tells you approximately how long ago a video was posted. I see that to be 17 hours. The video will be just as erroneous ten years from now.
All information is time sensitive. That's how I think.... the file in my mind is in time sequence.... missing dates mean missing thinking power. And the time you can waste thinking if you look and look and look you will find the date / time of the data. I spent an hour looking for the date of a Trump speech that was played by Glenn Beck and others in 2024 as if it was new. It was 2+ years old. It was a great speech and probably still true... probably is not good enough. It is excellent. Here it is with a transcript: President Donald J. Please follow the account recovery steps as outlined in this article: askleo.com/how-do-i-recover-my-hacked-facebook-account/ If Facebook's recovery process doesn't work for you -- maybe you don't have the recovery email or phone -- MAKE SURE to follow Facebook's instructions CAREFULLY and COMPLETELY. If the Facebook recovery process can't be made to work, I know of no way to recover the account. If that's your situation I'm very sorry. If you DO recover your account you'll want to check the steps in this article to prevent losing it again: askleo.com/facebook-hacked/
Would you in the future talk about what a person who has been pranked by someone who know his or her phone number and/or email who then requests OTP through SMS continuously (such as those in the same workplace but doesn't have a good working relationship with) should do, especially when the victim has to deal with SMS fee afterward ?
Sorry you, or someone you know, is having to deal with that. One possible solution might be to block the SMS sending number, unblock it if you need to receive an OTP from that number, then block it again. Hopefully, the other person(s) involved will tire and stop wasting their time requesting OTPs in your behalf. Just a thought...
The date problem really shows itself when looking for information. I get stuff 10 years old a lot of the time!

I think dates do have relevance and should be left up to the person who is searching to decide.

It may not necessarily always imply value, but we should get to decide that.
uh dates do have value.

@@askleonotenboom The date for 2+2=4 doesn't matter. What are the most recent Linux drivers? Matters a great deal.

"Why do search result not have dates?" Because Search Results don't make enough money for women to be interested in them.

Leo, How about a video on adding any reddit community New posts to RSS feeder like feedly. I do not seem to find any stable working way to doing it.
I used to do it, but Reddit disabled the ability. Quite annoying. Now I just have shortcuts to specific Reddit groups saved.
@askleonotenboom Thanks for replying. Atleast now I know how experts like you are managing this issue. Thanks

Can you turn off SMS in Settings temporarily? Also, contact your ISP and ask for help. They may waive the fees.
