- Hiking and Photography go hand in hand, it's really where my passion lies and I love being in the great outdoors no matter what the weather. In this video, it really was a case of 4 seasons in one day.
This video was inspired by a Swedish chap that I follow named Erik Normark. In his outdoor adventure videos, he does very little talking to the camera, similar to ASMR. He concentrates on capturing the audio sounds of the landscape which make for a very immersive experience for the viewer. This is something that I will be exploring over the coming months but with my own twist.
It was an absolute joy to make this video and I found that not speaking to the camera actually allowed me to enjoy the environment more. I also think that it helped me to concentrate on my compositions too.

Just discovered your silent videos (which are not really silent) and have to say I'm loving them. I've just watched them all back-to-back.and can't think of anything better to whilst away a lockdown evening. So refreshing just to see a day out and enjoy the sounds of nature ... keep'em coming.

At last I got time to watch this video. It is definitely one of the best that I have ever seen from anyone. A brilliant film Ian, incredibly relaxing just to listen to the sounds of winter in the Peak District interspersed with some inspiring photographs. I think would all like to see more videos like this in future

love you're videos man! they have a very chill vibe... the one thing I would recommend is maybe some background lofi music... but either way love these videos man!

Where i live in Wales its a common occurrence to see four seasons in a day i've enjoyed living here all my life nowhere better surrounded by mountains and wildlife

@@ian_worth Thought it was - I love the idea of that top bit so you can carry essentials as well as the camera gear. You need to invest in a jetboil tho mate lol

@@ian_worth Get a Fire Maple from amazon, not a jetboil - £50 instead of £120 and boils water faster. Mine is indispensable mate.
Absolutely enjoyed it. Had that relaxing slow TV feel to it, no intrusive music, unlike some other bvloggers who I won’t mention. Just wonderful scenery and images.

Hi Ian ... Love this video and the more recent Bamford edge Golden Hours. The silence is very relaxing, not that we don't want to hear your advice etc but this format is quite cool. will definitely do this hike this year. Notice when your using your 50-140 you don't use the support collar provided. Do you feel it is not required ?. All the best - Hugh

Thanks Bruce, I use the zoom h2n with a dead cat. I placed this as near to the sound that i am trying to record as possible also out of sight of the camera. I also have a rode video micro on the camera with a dead cat. 👍😃😃

I really liked hearing only the sounds of nature; it made me feel as if I were there. Beautiful images, especially the moving water, but I would have appreciated seeing your settings because I also shoot with a Fuji XT-3. It was so nice to see that you left the power in the water and didn't resort to that tedious silky/milky look.

Hi Alan, I used the Rode video micro on the camera but also place a zoom h2n mic near to me when i was at distance to the camera, both with dead cats to reduce that rumbling wind noise. Thanks for watching 👍😃😃
