Both shots are lovely but I prefer the 2nd one. The light on the rocks seems to carry your eye through the whole scene, first from front then to back. In the 1st photo your eye goes straight to the light over the distant mountains and the foreground rocks are almost irrelevant.
A great video, Ian. You explained your thought processes so clearly. All the images were great. Of the two side by side, #2 is my preference today, but tomorrow it might easily be #1! Two different moods from the same scene!
For me it was no. 2 as I felt the darker clouds added a dramatic element that really adds mood to the impressive mountain scenery. Great images from a beautiful land, and excellent tips as always.
I like the 1st photo with the colorful sky, the 2nd photo is also amazing just a little more dramatic. Cool location and fantastic images. What a sunrise to wake up to with the sunlight and the mist. ✌
Great video, thanks for taking us along! I prefer #2 because it brings a sense of foreboding, which raises questions and creates interest. #1 is beautiful, but the world is filled with beautiful sunrises.
Another enjoyable and informative video. Everyone will likely agree that they are both worthy of space on our respective walls but if I only had one space left #2 would fill it. Looking forward to your next walking vid blog.
Great video explaining and showing different ways to frame an image. This video also shows the work and dedication required to get the shot! Hike up a mountain, spend the night in your tent and hope the weather cooperates! Thank you for this video!
I am sorry for not being much of a help here, but I do love both pictures. If you don’t mind me suggesting, I would display those two side-by-side, thereby creating a series like Monet did with the Rouen Cathedral. And thank you so much for the great video!
Always pleasant and informative to watch and enjoy your videos. Also I love both your style and @HenryTurnerphoto 's, and especially your passion, energy and positivity. Which, fortunately, are contagious.
In your #1 vs. #2 photos at 12:00, I really like the warmth of light on the foreground and mountains. It would be interesting to see what a blend adding in some of the colors of the sky and mountain tops in #1 to photo #2 would look like. Could be just me but I'm feeling a sense that you are much more relaxed and focused these days. The switch to full time I think must have been a good move.
Hey Ian Awesome and very helpful video! I love hiking and shooting in north wales. This place looks like a mountain that I climbed last year. Stunning scenery... Could you tell me where it is? I'm just wondering if it's the same place. Thanks!
I enjoyed the video as usual Ian. It was nice to see you out and about with Henry again. Certainly a bit blustery up there. Thank you for the tips you shared on lightroom, i will definitely try them out as i did not know about them. Great image's as usual mate. Catch you on the next one.
Haha...too difficult to choose! I like them both for different reasons: I like the color of the clouds in #1 with the sun and I like the plume of clouds that appears to be coming out of the center mountain in #2.
Definitely photo 2 is my favourite Ian, these days I prefer the more moody conditions, for my own photography I've really reduced the amount of shots I take with the classic sunrise/sunset colours.
Image #2, Ian. As someone else said, we see too many sunrises. #2 is more atmospheric. Wonderful images throughout, and have seen Henry‘s content too, taken with his Sony p/s! I did feel you placed your tent too close to the rounded edge and could have been back where Henry placed his. We don‘t want to lose our fav photographer to the howling mountain winds!

Loved this mate, massive fan of that initial morning image you got, the sort of blue hour one. What an adventure and looking forward to the next one!!

#2, the detail in the clouds catches my eye vs the magenta colors on #1
Thanks, thats very interesting, I'm 50/50 🙂
Another great video Ian. You have a gentle way of speaking and teaching people photography! WELL DONE!
Thanks so much, much appreciated 👍
Hi Ian
Great video this week as always. The final shot is absolutely fantastic, some lovely light
I think that was my fave too 👍
I prefer shot #1 because of the colours in the sky. Great video!
Loved the video, No2 did it for me.
Thanks so much 👍
I like the 1st photo with the colorful sky, the 2nd photo is also amazing just a little more dramatic. Cool location and fantastic images. What a sunrise to wake up to with the sunlight and the mist. ✌

Outstanding video! A little gear news and lots of great photography advice with excellent examples! Thanks for taking me along!
Thanks so much for watching 👍
Great Video! #2 is primo! Cheers!
Great video, thanks for taking us along!
I prefer #2 because it brings a sense of foreboding, which raises questions and creates interest. #1 is beautiful, but the world is filled with beautiful sunrises.
Thanks so much, I really appreciate the feedback 👍
Hello, Ian. Both 1 & 2 have their atmospheric qualities. All images today are great.
Many thanks! 🙏
Shot number 2.👍
Great to know 👍
Image #2 .. stunning images all around.
Thanks so much 👍
? is the Falcam Tripod made of GOLD!
Another enjoyable and informative video. Everyone will likely agree that they are both worthy of space on our respective walls but if I only had one space left #2 would fill it. Looking forward to your next walking vid blog.
Thanks so much 👍
Great video, lovely landscape and helpful tips and inspiration 🙂
Thanks so much 👍

Thanks so much 👍
Smashing video! Think I prefer image 2 as opposed to image 1. And that final image is sublime. Sadly nothing like that in Essex!
Its about a 5 hour drive for me too, but well worth it👍
I am sorry for not being much of a help here, but I do love both pictures. If you don’t mind me suggesting, I would display those two side-by-side, thereby creating a series like Monet did with the Rouen Cathedral.
And thank you so much for the great video!
Thanks so much, thats a great idea 👍
#2 for me, even though I gasped when I saw the first one. Thank you for another great video.
Thanks so much 👍
Another stunning video Ian, even better this week as it’s from my favourite place in the world.
Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
Always pleasant and informative to watch and enjoy your videos. Also I love both your style and @HenryTurnerphoto 's, and especially your passion, energy and positivity. Which, fortunately, are contagious.
Thanks, that really does mean a lot 👍
Great video ian picture 2 for me stunning landscape 😊

Thanks so much 👍 I'm loving doing this full-time, it feels like a dream come true 🙏
Focux not Flex for camping? Like the vid.
Thanks so much, I don't have the flex, but the Focux worked out well 👍

I'm 50/50 too, can't make my mind up lol 👍
Can see where Falcam got their ideas from and to be honest they seem to have done a better job - took the ideas further even if they are not original.
I'm really impressed with the quality of their gear, top notch 👍
Awesome video great training❤
#2. Love your style and content.
Thanks so much 👍
Definitely photo 2 is my favourite Ian, these days I prefer the more moody conditions, for my own photography I've really reduced the amount of shots I take with the classic sunrise/sunset colours.
Thanks buddy, your thoughts are a common theme throughout the comments. Can't beat those moody mountain scenes 👍
#2 for me.
Thanks 👍

Thanks so much, it perhaps looked closer than it was, but yeah it was flipping windy up there, things can change so quickly in the mountains. 🏔️
loved #2 totaly moody
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it
What lens is that?
the 18-55 fuji lens
#1 is nicer, but #2 is more moody 😉
😮1🙌
👍
Photo #1
Nice tripod bit expensive for me though
Yes, it's a very high end piece of equipment which I think is priced accordingly 👍
Much prefer picture #2
Thanks so much 👍
Photo # 2
Thanks so much 👍
Falcam products look like they were heavily influenced by Peak design items
I'm not sure, but they are very well built and designed. 👍
Mountain? Where I’m from that’s just a larger than average hill.😂😂😂
Mountain snob lol
Fortunately, size doesn't matter, it's what you do with it that counts . 😁
Them views are butifull 👌
Thanks so much, they really are 👍
