We Do Lighting Better Because We Test!
The background music is not a good idea when you're talking during the video, it is very distracting.
Lol it wasn't till I read this lol
You should review the Morimoto 7" Sealed Beam LED. Great light with excellent light pattern. Nice wide hotspot.... perfect for single-headlight applications like motorcycles.
Excellent video on the terminology of headlights. I have a JK 2016 and the first time I drove it on an unlighted highway at night, I was impressed at how poor the stock lights are. Low and Hi-beams were only slightly different as to brightness, and the brightness overall was poor. Ended up slowing down and driving in low beam in order to see anything. I have been looking at the JW Speaker 8700-J. But, before I purchase, I am now going to your channel to check your review. A BIG THUMBS-UP TO YOUR INPUT!!
i love them
I've got the Truck-Lite's in my Wrangler and I'm pretty happy with them.
How much?
I'm so glad I found your video. I've just started looking for replacement headlights for my 1976 Ramcharger. It still has the original lights and they put our about as much light as a camping lantern at 25 feet. I was confused about lumens vs. lux, as well as domestic vs. Chinese junk. Your video made this very easy to understand. Now I just have to watch some of your other videos to see which one I like the best. You just made my restoration project much, much easier. Thanks again!!
That's so great! Glad we could help you out and that you like them, we love hearing that! Here's a link to the playlist of all the videos from the 7" round series incase you have trouble finding them all:
ua-cam.com/play/PLhombf0sgTNy-fsw4tf24UzBKHGQEoX7D.html
Very helpful. I knew there had to be more to it than just lummens and focal glass.
Great video. My question would be how do all these headlights compare to stock headlights? A lot of us just can't afford the higher ranked headlights and just want something better than stock.
Hi, Chris, and friends.
I had an International 9900i Eagle that I put the trucklite large rectangle beams into. I thought they were a great light for highway use but over a few years the poly lens became abraded and after being polished back up, still performed great. So much better than the halogen lights. You can really see down the road.
Now i have a Kenworth and put the 4 smaller square J.W. Speaker headlights in. I find they are good on low beam, but on high beam, there is too much light cast down in front of my truck, and that brightness makes it hard to see distance. I feel that the Speaker high beams don't give me enough light downfield, nor in a spread that illuminates enough of the periphery. Also, 3 out of 4 of the Speaker lights are badly fogged up with moisture, and need to be dried out. I intend on drilling small holes and taking out the moist air and replacing it with dry air or helium or something, then sealing them up again.
I intend on eventually trying a set of trucklite high beams to augment my Speaker low beams. Your thoughts??
Regards, Brian
The right video I have seen just before buying.I know LUX is a bathing soap , now I came to know what is LUX . Thank you so much
Stay clean my friend.
LUX is a great paintball gun too
Thanks . I think I got some thing out of this good to keep informed .
I waited to 11:29 to hear "I'm not going to rank these headlights from worst to best? Also, it would have been marvelous to see you highlight or mark each light in the picture as you were addressing them. It was difficult to scan the whole set each time you began talking about one.
I wish you guys could've benchmarked this against the stock headlight, just to see how much benefit you're truly gaining. I'm looking between the KCs and the Trucklites for my 260z
Also will you guys ever do a LED tail light video. I would really be interested in that
12:11 aw missed opportunity for an enLIGHTened pun
That's a good idea. We will take that into consideration going forward.
Excellent detail that helped me make the decision to move on the JW Speaker solution for my Hummer H2.
Oracle 5769, in my opinion is the Best for the dollar $254, and the color, distance, and spread is amazing. Looked and performed perfectly in my Hummer H2
Oracle isn't bad at all!
Can you please make a more updated video with more 7inch lights. I'd like to see some 7inch with built in blinkers and halo rings and how they compare to the rest. Xkglow, genssi and many more. I know jw speaker is probably ultimately the best but I need a headlight with built in blinker.
Still looking through your video series but basically I want this video for rectangular headlights
We have a handful of 4x6 and 5x7 reviews as well! Check them out here: www.youtube.com/@HeadlightRevolution/search?query=sealed
Fascinating and insightful. I have a Trucklite on my bike - brilliant.
The Harley LED is very expensive, and so many buy cheaper LEDs. Would be good to do comparisons including Truckmall, which, in 2021, looks like an excellent light at an excellent price and is approved.
We actually just did a new 7 inch round video test, you can check that out here!
ua-cam.com/video/ekMpdKfLlMQ/v-deo.html
And another older video here.
ua-cam.com/video/peFLmu2MfTg/v-deo.html
They act like i give a shit if its DOT approved, i promise the mechanic inspecting my jeep doesnt know the difference, neither will a cop pulling you over.
This video is great, but the background music ruins it. BTW, I'm an EDM fan, but seriously this is not the place for it.
This shit right here. At least take the sound down by a LOT! LIke I shouldn't be able to hear it.
Cool channel. Nice website. Thank you for the videos and all the in depth comparisons. Ill be ordering my lights from you because of these videos.
Great information!! Thanks for the research, well done and well presented. This helps cut through all the false claims and marketing hype. Do you plan to add reviews of other brands as they come out? ProComp for example?
Richard France We are constantly trying to test other brands to see what is the best out there. Keep your eye out for a new shootout in the future!
I have the generic Chinese projectors and they are not that good by themselves, but if you have the passing LED lights they are fantastic. Gives you even wider coverage at night.
very cool video , very balanced, informative, and thoroughly enjoyed
Awesome, Thank you! Glad we could help!
A lot has changed since this video test was done. We need a new test comparing OEM headlights like Harley Davidson', etc..
I just put one of the Chinese black ones and it says dot sae right on the lens. It seems to be decent enough made and it's super bright. The only thing I don't care for is I think the lens is a soft material hard to get smears out of it. But definitely worth 65$
Only thing I know is $800 is ridiculously over priced.
Just buy the $100 Chinese ones.. They work great and after 2 years they are still working great.. This guy is just a profit marketer.
Mr Ben you are right this is a biased video.
If you give me 800$, I'll gift you a bike, RX 115 😕
Then you are poor and need a better job!
Jeremy Smith yeah I'm poor AF, but not a fool like you 😳
just curious which is the best "generic" you've tested?
Awesome Video!
Thanks so much! Glad you liked it!
The most professional light comparison on UA-cam.
Not at all.. He is talking utter Bollocks. He is just swaying you to buy the expensive kit so he can make profit from doing so.
Mr Ben You can buy any lights from ANYwhere!😉
Do you think he works for Amazon???😂
Definitely, he (or his company) is NOT the ONLY ONE who sales high quality headlights.
You are naive to think that...how old are you!?
Great reviews, thanks! However, I can't find the Putco LuminiX 12015 Demo and Review video on your channel. Was it taken down?
Any chance of a 5.75 (5 3/4) comparison of available LED rounds?
Folks need to check out Dapper Lighting. Designed and made in the US at a great affordable price. Fully customizable . No need to guess and check any knock off.
Thanks for the recommendation!
best test ever
Hello, great video, very informative!. Do you have any comparisons on the Eagle Lite brand 8700 Gen2, or 9100 series. Are they a fairly good light, why didn't make your survey? Thanks,
There's only so much time in the day boss. Sorry we couldn't get it in. I don't have any experience with said headlights, so I can't speak on the quality.
Until about 20 years ago, American Government only allowed Sealed Beam Headlights, but I found that Bulb type headlights that were only Legal on Motorcycles could replace a sealed beam and give a considerably better beam pattern. If you own an older car where you must use Sealed Beam headlights, look for Motorcycle headlights and instal LEDs in them.
Hi, thanks for this amazing review. I am very interesting in this product (Eagle Lights Black 7") but I do not know if it is certified? ... What headlight do we recommend for a motorcycle?
JW Speaker ... please is this a sponsored video? The chinese units are great and only 40-80 dollar... compared to 800?
Hey can u do a updated 2021 review please
Stay tuned, we are working on something.
I'm wondering why you didn't include one of the most popular competitors to the JW Speaker: Eagle Lights 8700?
EssTEye a thousand companies sell that same headlight. It's a low quality knock off of the real thing. Doesn't even come close for light output compared to the genuine JWS 8700.
Headlight Revolution Smart and professional answer!👍
A mule and horse are cousins BUT not a twin brothers -- mule is inferior!By birth!😉
What about this one, GENSSI 7 Inch Projector LED Headlight , what can you tell about it?
Can you do a review on who has the best LED headlights kits for plug and play
How about eagle lights?
excellent.....i was looking for this explanation
Glad we could help
is there any similar test for fog led lights....i find very atractive use of multiple led fog lamps as "main" headlight
Not really for the fog lights. Here's one video we did: ua-cam.com/video/ARlOcXr9n4Y/v-deo.html
When we talk about the VisionX and JW Speaker, they are the best in the business. You won't find a better quality Light.

I’m a night time truck driver driving a 2020 Freightliner semi Coronado that has 7” round currently using H5 and H 11 led bulbs I’d like to look into a round 7” glass led combo. I do lots of Night driving on dark roads just do you recommend that sports 1400-1600 Lux Co, lumen rating could be 5,7,or even 8000 lumens. Looking for Best without breaking the Bank and Brite to see mainly Road with good shoulder also. What do you recommend
For must trucks, JW Speaker is the best option since they have heated lenses.
Are you planning on reviewing the new--KC HiLiTES Gravity LED Pro Headlights 4234Any time soon?
LEDSs 7 inch HEaDlight BEST
Thank you for this video. Have you had a chance to review the new factory-installed Mopar LED headlights (68304051AB) available in the 2016-2017 MY Wranglers? FCA offers Mopar-branded JW Speaker 8700 Evolution headlamps (82214333AB) as an aftermarket accessory which we already know plenty about, but I'm curious to know how the new stock-LED headlamps compare to everything else in this review. Thanks!
Wonder which 7'' is the best value light for your money. Since there's so many companies doing LED headlights it's really difficult put your money in the right one. This video is from May 2016...So how much has the LED market changed since then? Put $800 in a pair of LED headlights it's insane...but also put $65 for a pair that's just doesn't work well or have the right light pattern.
there are no bad ones!
Manga Huisman Crap! Half,....ok,at least 1/3 of all the lights are worthless (IF we are talking about performance).
Look ,carefully, tonight how many lights are shooting up in the eyes of oncoming traffic rather than the road!
I don’t care what you buy for your vehicle, just make sure they are aimed correctly.
I will flash you with my HID high beams if you’re blinding me.
(Looking at you Chevy, Ford, and Dodge HID reflector guys)
Exactly!
Where is the putco review? I see separate videos for each light but not putco .
Great over-view and introduction to your testing methodology. I'm curious about the fact that these lights don't seem to be Left or Right but are un-handed. Isn't there supposed to be a cut-off on the driver's side low-beam light such that it doesn't shine into the eyes of oncoming drivers? Or does the cut-off as shown perform that function and give up throwing light farther on the non-driver's side... Also, for use in vehicles that hide-away their headlights it would be nice to know the weights of the units.
Thanks!
Yes!
The headlights that go on the driver/passanger sides are the same lights, so un-handed, yes. The cutoff is that sharp line you see in the DOT approved lights like the Speaker 8700 evo2 or the Vision X Vortex.
The light goes further because it's brighter, not because the light source is aimed higher.
they all weigh around 2lbs.
Thanks for your comments!
I'm pretty sure the 8700 I got is from China, I bought it off of Amazon. The glass dome does have DOT Approved on it though. Thoughts?
would liked to have seem the Chinese side reflector tested...... a few of my alfa romeo spider owner freinds have installed them, and they like the beam pattern, and distance..of the light.....i drove one of there cars last july on a back road.. and it had good lightning on the road
Glad that headlight is working for them, we will see what we can do as far as getting a test video going for those lights! We will keep you posted!
awsome vide now i can buy my bullet headlight 👍👍👍👍👌👌👌👌👌☺☺☺☺☺☺
And which headlight will be best for good lighting
💪
Can you review the quadratec Gen 2 LED headlight?
We can see if we can set that up.
What about the quadratec? What do you think about them?
Thank you so much for your information
cant tell you about lux or lumens. But I just added Genssi 7 inch round with halos and blinkers. They are must better then factory lights. att a cost of 110. I am happy with them.
Hi Charlie Moucho
I am thinking to replace headlights for my defender 110. Could I ask you for recommendations please
Cheers
How are they holding up for you? I also was considering these
Hello Chris. I have a 2005 fat boy with already installed a 7" HD Daymaker headlight. But I ve seen today , after searching, the new J.W.Speaker Adaptive headlight (8790). Do you believe that worth to change, with the one I am having right now? The difference wouldbe so great? Thanks in advance
Great information! Subd!
Any reviews on the Custom Dynamics Tru-Beam led headlight?
Not yet, there's so many out there it's tough to get them all. Thanks for commenting!
Headlight Revolution Thank you.
Thanks for your comments!
I have a 99’ Acura Integra it is the round bug eye style headlights, two round headlights on each side a low beam and highbeam,
What is going to be my best option to get a lot more output from my headlights, I don’t want crazy colors no yellow no bright blue or purple I just want really really great headlights,
right now I have the very basic Sylvania 9006 bulbs for low beam and the Sylvania 9005 for my highbeam,
My visibility is so poor that most of the time I find myself driving around with my highbeams on and even that is barely bright enough for me to feel safe,
I’ve watched a lot of your videos and they are very helpful any suggestions would be great thank you very much.
Karl H.
any chance you guys can make a review on the new clearwater sevina leds? they are really pricey ($1K+) and I would love to know if they're worth the money.
nice video what do you think about this aux lights KC HiLiTES 3" C3 LED
How would the Mopar ones compare to these?
You forgot the control group to put a generic halogen in the bunch :(
This is a LED comparison, not a halogen to LED comparison.
I think its a valid point, especially if you're replacing a halogen light with a LED drop in.
Nice comparative video I just want to know if the J.W Speakers can fit my freightliner coronado? It has 7" headlight but don't know if the nes headlight fit yhe braket?
Great review!
How does the JW Speaker 8700 Evolution 2 compare to the Rigid 7in rounds?
WOW Great video.
Thanks for watching!
I’d only buy heated led s up north
They are very very handy up here in Northern Minnesota!
Can you make a video about what you recommend for the Jeep Patriot? (Including LED/HID bulbs)
CarcPazu yeah... sell it and buy a real jeep
in market for LED headlights(front and back) for my 1986 chevy c10 Silverado what advice, suggestion can you provide. Thanks
Im interested to order the putco 12016 headlights or the similar model from OPAR 7" arrow headlights and need your advise for :
- if this will fit my hummer H2 2008 SUV car ?
- Do i need to do any modification for the housing ?
- Do i need adapter converter for 9007 ?
Any recommendation from your end for the same headlights design ?
Regards
I owned 2 Jeep Wrangler jk rubicons and put trucklight led in both. I have had a total of 3 go bad. On my 2008 the dealer replaced one and I had to foot the bill for the second. The trucklights in my 2015 have had moisture in them since about 2 months after installation and one went out the other day and guess what, the dealer won't cover it. I'm looking for something different now.
Ed Johnson you should contact us about the Vision X Vortex headlights. We'll give you a crazy deal on them, and you won't have any fail or get foggy, promise! sales@HeadlightRevolution.com
Headlight Revolution Sir, I was glad to see your video about the ELD headlights and I have question(s).
I'm driving a more than 120 000 miles per year and most of them are "night miles".Yep,I'm a truck driver and driving night time is more effective....anyway....
Which one of the high quality headlights got very good low beam pattern?
Which one doesn't have too much parasitic glare?I don't want to "blind" oncoming traffic and cause an accident!
I don't care much about high beams, at least 90% of the night driving is on low beams.
I will gladly accept your advice, you sound professional and convincing. Thank you in advance!
Very helpful video. Do you ever need to install any other type of mounting frame for a LED headlight on a Jeep Wrangler JKU?
If you have a 7" round headlight already, you shouldn't need anything to fit. The good quality lights are all standard sized.
Can you review the new JW speaker Adaptive and the Genssi 7" rounds?
Well done!!!
Familiar with uxcell 7" headlight? Will you review it in the future?
What is your opinion on the ridged industry 7" round?
@4:35
PSA incoming...
Yeah, I got fooled by the "Generic Chinese Black Projector" lights that were actually marked "DOT Approved".
Sure, they're a LOT brighter than the originals (1965 Mustang), but the light is so scattered I can't aim them for shit (no upper cutoff so LOTS of light up high where I don't want it).
Stay away.
psygnale Finally!Smart and useful response 👍from somebody who understands the importance of "performance"!
Thanks!🍻

I drive a semi truck with 7 inch round headlights. I am using the stock headlight and they are terrible. I have watched your video and I am looking for a bright light because I drive on a lot of dark 2 lane roads what would you suggest for my application?
We can definitely help you out, Send us an email to Sales@HeadlightRevolution.com and we will go over some of the best options possible for you.
Hi does the 7inch ledlight speaker Evo 2 will fit my Jeep compass 2008 ?
what about the ones on amazon and ebay i'm shopping for headlights and don't know if they are coming from overseas or not.
MsLeelee94 You get what you paid for!
If your headlight costs comparable to dinner for two in inexpensive restaurant where you think is made, uh?🙄🤔
.......Chinaaaaa....😂🤣😂😉
and general dynamics?
Do you mean Custom Dynamics by chance? If so, we haven't done any testing with their headlights yet.
I’m looking to replace the headlights on my humvee m998. Will any of these 7 plug & play or will I need and adapter?
You should be able to use any of those as long as that Humvee uses a universal 7in round headlight socket! If they do, then you can use any of the headlights I have linked for you below! Let us know if you have any other questions, have a good one!
Link: www.headlightrevolution.com/complete_housings/universal_sealed_beam/custitem_category_facet/7%22-Round?order=commercecategory:asc
sorry, not into the looks of LED on a Jeep plus a much cheaper H4 conversion lamp is a LOT brighter than the standard lights and more then sufficient for me.that said, if one is into LED and money is no object. this is an excellent vid.
Hey they make them for 2002 super gliad
Could you or have you done a review of LED replacement bulbs?
Timothy, we find that most people go with sealed beams, and the older generation of bulbs didn't do very well in the Jeep headlights. With the new generation that came out they work a lot better so we made a kit for them.
headlightrevolution.com/2007-2017-jeep-wrangler-jk-led-h13-headlight-bulb-upgrade-gen-3-bulbs-anti-flicker-harnesses/
Let me know if you have any other questions!
Thank you for the reply. I restore older British sports cars and originality, at least the appearance of originality, is somewhat important. That's why most folks wishing to upgrade the lighting on their classic British cars use the original head lamps and replace the incandescent bulbs with halogen or LED bulbs. More and more are going to LEDs. Thanks again for getting back to me.
Let me know if we have other questions. Email is best for questions: sales@headlightrevolution.com
truck-lite 27270c fit my Mustang 65?
is it Land Rover friendly?
The music is distracting as hell.
Matt Josephson I love this song. We good
Agreed, also copyright?
Just replace the Skrillex soundtrack with something that everyone uses because it's free.
What music?
That is breakn a sweat by Skrillex
I honestly didn't notice. I was too angry at the Chinese bullshit, then enthralled by the American made, black JW. I think the music is nice though.
Can you guys make a video regarding the few if any headlight options for H5001/H5005 5.75 sealed beam conversions. There doesn't seem to be much support out there for Par46 housings.
I got a 05, h2 and I want a led head light can u help
Your wish is our command.

should put the prices on them too. JW is nice and all but no way am i paying $300-600 for them so best bang for the buck is that united pacific 31400 for $140! price and quality go hand in hand but overpriced BS is just gouging untill cheaper later on/
This video is pretty old and if we had the pricing listed at the time it would be way off now. Pricing changes over time and we didn't want our video to have outdated pricing 6 months later.
As far as your opinion about United Pacific, I will have to respectfully challenge - there is no comparison between JWS and UO. The UP headlights are cheaper for a reason... it's not that one is ripping you off and one is a good deal. The JWS headlights are 10x better in terms of light output and driving experience. Trust me, I've used both.
-Chris Nelson
Headlight Revolution, I'm looking for a LED headlight that will not freeze over in winter since I live in Minnesota and it gets cold, wet and snowy here. Any other choices other than the Truck -Lite with heated lens?
We live here too! Yeah, the truck-lite with the heated lens would be your best bet in you were worried about getting caught in a blizzard.
Jim Fijacko I live in Canada and I just got Rigid Industries LED headlights with winter melting system on it to deal with frost and snow. I'm happy with the light output.
this comparison is going on 3 years old as many people tell me every time i share it with them.. how about an updated comparison..
We are actually filming an updated 7" round video as we speak!
@@HeadlightRevolution awesome, i look forward to sharing it
so which LED highlight for a Jeep JK is the most 'natural' white, (as opposed to blueish)?
Vision X would be the whitest option for a 7" round headlight.
thanks for the response. What if you don't want the halos?
Sorry I can’t understand what you was talk (too fast)! I have Honda Cb750 cafe racer can I use Generic Chinese Black Projector??
Hey Mr Summer! We're sorry about that, we'll try and slow it down next time :).
Headlight Revolution not sure! Just because I’m not good at listen! So now let give me some idea, I have a Honda cb750 cafe racer, can I use Chinese Generic black projector LED??
@@Oneday.. Well seeing that it is a motorcycle, you are going to want a headlight you can rely on to always perform at it's best for you. You don't want your headlight to go out on you while you're out riding! I would avoid a Generic headlight for the risks of poor quality and possible failure.
I would highly recommend looking into getting the Morimoto Super7 Bi-LED Headlights! These are proven to be a huge hit in the Jeep community both on the road and Off-Road for their rugged reliability and fantastic light output! Plus they are quite affordable! $495 will get you two headlight housings, so you will always have a spare! Being fully Plug and Play, the install will be seamless! The amazing part about these headlights is the Cut-off Line is razor sharp, meaning you will not have to worry about being flashed by oncoming traffic, while providing you all the needed light to completely transform your nighttime riding experience. 😎 Take a look, my man! From one motorcyclist to another, these are the true way to go.

What are the specs of the stock JK headlights?
Not the best... They came out to be 520 Lux, advertised at 900 Lumens.
