And he'll see that it's me, I'm the one girl who knows him So maybe, if I risk all I have, risk everything, then maybe I will not need to fear every sigh because, Maybe….I will finally know that this man should be mine!
Wow they really have toned down Ellen from the original. From 'It's her or me' to 'Now that I've seen her' to this new song. She came across as too aggresive before and was hard to warm to her, 'Maybe' could be exactly what's needed.
Where is this song going to placed in the show? I'll be upset f Now That I've Seen Her is removed for this. I really liked the emotion of that song. Even the snippet from the uk tour (with kerry ellis as Ellen) gives me chills
Hi! I just wanted to say that yes this song replaced Now That I've Seen Her. It's interesting in that I feel like they needed to change the dialogue in later scenes to fit this and I don't believe they did. But yeah, just in case no one else had answered your question.
Allegedly, this song is going to replace Now That I've Seen Her. If this is true, I do not like the change. The style of the music is very different from anything else in the show. I do not find it to be nearly as moving as Now That I've Seen Her. Furthermore, it is just WRONG to change a masterpiece like the score to Miss Saigon.
I really love some of these lyrics. I feel the perfect lyrics for this song would be a combination. "He had my heart from the moment we met, though he smiled with a sadness I'll never forget, I knew lost as he was and in pain as he was I would love this one man till I die"
On further reflection, this is a brave choice. The melody for 'It's her or me' is one of the best and am surprised a new one was written. The Dutch version just about works. I hope this is not another catastrophic decision such as the one to have a video helicopter rather than the real thing.
But, maybe… I'm still blind about her and his love that still haunts him Now I've seen her, I know why her memory taunts him I can't fight all these ghosts from his past, and yet Maybe…I can still win his heart I have to win But maybe… When he dreams of her love next to mine Well, just maybe… He'll think back on our love, one last time, that she loves him.
Maybe… Deep inside, I know I can give more than she gave him And it's me, only me Who's the one who can save him So maybe… Just maybe, he'll still choose me He had my heart from the moment we met Though he smiled with a sadness, I'll never forget. I knew lost as he was, and in pain as he was I would love this one man till I die
Maybe … I'm a fool holding on when I've already lost him There was someone before me and losing her cost him And if she has come back in his life Well, then maybe… this man was never mine And yet, my heart cries…
SJB is flawless.
I like her choices for this song better then those in the show. There they seem afraid of letting Ellen truly sing.
Can someone please post the lyrics for this? Certain parts difficult to understand due to recording limitations. Melody is lovely!
And he'll see that it's me, I'm the one girl who knows him
So maybe, if I risk all I have, risk everything, then maybe
I will not need to fear every sigh because,
Maybe….I will finally know that this man should be mine!

Any word about sheet music for this song?!
This is the new song for Miss Saigon.
Is there an instrumental?
Yep, it's for Miss Saigon.
But, maybe…
I'm still blind about her and his love that still haunts him
Now I've seen her, I know why her memory taunts him
I can't fight all these ghosts from his past, and yet
Maybe…I can still win his heart
I have to win
But maybe…
When he dreams of her love next to mine
Well, just maybe…
He'll think back on our love, one last time, that she loves him.
Maybe…
Deep inside, I know I can give more than she gave him
And it's me, only me
Who's the one who can save him
So maybe…
Just maybe, he'll still choose me
He had my heart from the moment we met
Though he smiled with a sadness, I'll never forget.
I knew lost as he was, and in pain as he was
I would love this one man till I die
Maybe …
I'm a fool holding on when I've already lost him
There was someone before me and losing her cost him
And if she has come back in his life
Well, then maybe… this man was never mine
And yet, my heart cries…
YES!
