I was thinking of buying Triangle Borea BR08. I have no doubt now. You have done a very valuable work. Thank you very much.
this guy single handedly selling me the damn speakers.
These aren’t the first Triangle speaks I’ve heard lately and I have to say they make a Very Nice sound... ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I just bought a pair of the Bro3s
Bookshelves. I love them. You might laugh but my amp is a 1971 vintage Sansui 39 watt per channel amp.
They are great and what he describes is definitely what I feel. I’ve had some expensive speakers and I’d take these over any of them. They really do sound like nothing I’ve ever had before
звук этой аккустики действительно впечатляет. спасибо за Ваш обзор
The best review ever seen. Very professional commentary Ron. Than you so much
Holy cow!!! This has got to be the best audio review channel on UA-cam. You make Steve Guttenberg and Zero Fidelity look like amateur hacks. Manufacturers should be sending you their gear to review!!!
Very nice! I initially though they sounded great for $1,400 per-speaker, but I was shocked after discovering that price was for a pair! This might be one of the best sub $1,500 options available.
€900 a pair in France! :P
I think they're better than more expensive speakers such as klipsch Fortes. Etc
I'm still trying to decide. But they sound better somehow.
Just picked up BR09s for $999 cad 😊
@@rhyselliott9170 where ? how ? :O
Have the Bro3.. this is a great series from Triangle. Great video Ron, appreciate the work you put into this.
Great job again Ron. Loving your take on reviews and demo sessions.
Great video--love the sound of these.Adorama has been my go to store for a year now. When they put audio gear on sale the savings can be as much as 75% with free shipping.
Excellent bass timing which lines up with the midrange and treble. 50 Hz is about the lower limit in your room and the 60-70 Hz room mode is audible but not overwhelming. There is a bit of blurring in the upper midrange which Danny could probably eliminate with better crossover design and parts if he could ever open them! That's the only problem I can hear. They have a notable lack of coloration, blurring, and distortion elsewhere and I agree with your endorsement. They articulate nearly as well as horns without the shout.
I always feel like you and I hear the same things
@New Record Day As you know I live nowhere near Phoenix but my modest Schiit stack lets me hear a lot from digital and with the Lounge LCR even more from analog.
That was great ! Those sound amazing . Can't wait for round 2 . ✌️.
Excellent vid you really know what you are talking about. Pro job. I was considering buying BRO8 before this now there's no doubt left. Ever considered becoming Triangle's sales manager ? 😄Congratulations from a french viewer now a new subscriber.
Enjoying br09 with audiolab 6000a.
Nice duo!
Always honest reviews. Keep up the detailed conversation about each part of the mix. It would be helpful if you included in the drop down notes exactly what components were used, even if you mention it at the start.
Really nice analysis and comments. Love all the details you made me aware of. I'm tempted to buying a pair tomorrow! ;)
Those sound pretty damn good overall. Great sound clips, Ron. Thx, man. 🎶✌️💜🔊
Hi Ron I watched this video on my phone but I could still tell what a fantastic sound they make, also you
do have an amazing setup there & the room to let it breathe.
I bought Triangle Borea 10 ,1450 euros ....excellent speakers
this speakers are a bliss compared to my expensive kef r3 (harsh and fatiguing). i'm planning to get br08 or maybe tannoy xt8f or even further the harbeth 30.1 for their natural sound (due to their beautiful mids i think)
Nother Great video, Ron!
I have BRO3 but I think I will buy a pair of BRO8 too. Great speakers, great sound.
The first word that came to mind for me was crisp. Clean edges
Ron, I love your reviews. PLEASE review the Triangle Genese Trio. Same price at the BRO8. It would be nice to hear your comparison of the two. Thanks!
Ron, another wonderful aural review! Ok, important, how do they compare to the (same market segment) ELAC DFR52's that are still fresh in your brain...? Where are the measurements for these babies? You got me spoiled with the ELAC chart.
Oooops, just found the frequency response chart at @2:54. Thanks.
Would have loved one of these vids for the Concept 50s.
Yes Ron, I heard of Adorama and been on their site. Impessive. You like (another tube?) cool. Your review of the Triangle Borea Bro 8 has me wanting to demo them at a local dealer. I just demoed the Fyne Audio F502 (2500/pair){and due to hear the F502SP (5000/pair)}. If you get an opportunity to review I would be very curious of your POV. I can only hope you do before I make up my decision (knowing very well that it is ultimately up to what my ears like, but still I value your observations because it is very educational). BTW, the Fyne I believe is started by a group of people who were part of Tannoy Audio. The Fyne has a concentric tweeter compression driver...so cool. Stay Healthy.
hey Mark, what did you chose?
@@oslius Hey. Gosh I haven't been on this site for a bit. Just saw your reply. I am down to two speakers: Klipsch Forte IV and KLH Model 5. For sake of budget, I would go for the Model 5, but I am not sure if my Mitsubishi DAA15DC amp will be able to power them, given their low nominal impedance of 3.5 ohms. The Forte IV, I have no concerns with because they are so sensitive. The KLH is sensitive too, coming in at 90.5 dB but they have a minimal 6 ohm load, and like I said, go down to a low 3.5 ohm. I don't know. I am reaching out to people who perhaps own or have owned this amp to get their two cents but have not heard back from anyone yet. If you know anything about this amp, please let me know? My plan is to use this amp for as long as I can while I gradually add/improve on my front-end gear. Thanks and stay well
Once again my speakers sound great.
This vid reminds me of Georges boss. "You must get me a calzone George, i need it"
Excellent review, extremely detailed like the Bro8’s...
Soooo, $10k USD worth of electronics? Wouldn't anything sound great on that gear? :) Great review as always though Ron.
Listening on my Polk Audio Signature Series S55's... paired to an Onkyo TX-NR686 AV Receiver and connected to my smartTV. Sounds good. Not sure if it's my S55's or the Bro 8's.😃
Very cool sound recording
It is one of the 2021 whatHiFi 5 stars floor standing speakers, can’t afford these, got the little brother BR02, which are still amazing enough
Please do the Atlantic Technology AT-3 next! It's often an overlooked company but I'm sure you'll find it very very interesting and unique in the industry!
Great review Ron! Please, your preference, Dali Oberon 5 vs PSB T20 vs Triangle Borea BR08(BR07)?
These speakers are on sale at Adorama for $699!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What i would like to see is a pair of studio monitors , active ones ,any will do . Placed there to stay as a Reference . When you can A/B stuff you can do much better analysis .
There are such channels that do that for Studio monitors , compering numerous monitors . But no so much with Hi Fi
And before someone says , but hay you cant translate that properly with microphones . Cool , i agree but you can get a general idea .
But you need a reference, and that is why i say a pair of studio monitors as comparison would be nice .
Just so that you can see how good is it , maybe its not better then a studio monitor or maybe its better.
Anyone who knows, are they uppgradeable when it comes to the crossover?
How about the Bro 9, are they better or just bigger? 🤔
thinking of buying the Triangle BR09 floor stands speakers at around 1225 euros for a pair should i go for it or is there something better for around that price ? i can see you like them very much thanks.
Very interested in these speakers but I have an impedance question: I use a Sony AX 401 integrated amp from the 90’s. Its specs only rate it for 8 ohms - the Br0 8 has 8 ohms nominal but dips below 4. Would this be a problem for the Sony or would the 135 watts of power handle it fine? Thanks for the reviews and the help!
Ron. These speakers are everything that you proclaimed in your review and they had me hooked…all the up way until you played the female and male vocals… they were sterile and devoid of any warmth. Detailed but wholly unnatural.
Maybe something upstream
Hi. What amplifier are you driving them with? Thanks
I was told Triangle was pronounced Tree-angle. I am not sure which is correct. Your videos are always informative. Continue the good work.
Ron, please get your hands on a pair of JBL Stage 190's - not because I'm a JBL fan, certainly not because I like horn loaded drivers (tweeter in this case), but because sometimes they are priced below $800/pair. They have a few comments here and there that they are neutral, dynamic and have an expansive soundstage (in width, probably not in depth)....but still, a full size sub $800 (on sale) towers with the Ron "seal - of - approval" would get them in my home theater room.
I said H.T. room, not 2-channel hi-res stereo only room.
Hi Ron.Nice video.I bought Borea BR09.Any suggestion for amplifier under 1500 euros
How do they sound?
Seems quite better than the old Triangle that had tweeters I could not stand longer than 3 min., but I still don't like that upper spectrum... Nice review though! ;)
Great review! Could you include a piece of classical music in your speaker reviews, preferably by a big orchestra? Classical music can be very demanding and be a really tough test for any speaker/system. Thanks in advance!
Ron, any chance that you in the future will compare these Bro8 to the Bro9 with the additional woofer?
Did he say he uses Dirac to fix the sound prior to the testning?
The Borea line is boosted up in the upper bas. With some amps and or sorce, it can get blooted.
does anyone have any experience with both borea br08 and polk r500? or how does it even compare to oberon 5 or diamond 12.3/12.4?
How do the compare to Tannoy Revolution XT8F?
yo, I am a newby in trying to understand the amp ect to drive those br08 that you are using. Fantastic clip! I am sold. I wanna get the hole package, amps to br08 soeakers
Ok please can you advise me, this speakers or wharfedale 12.4?? My amplifier is denon pma 800ne
II listen mostly to rock and metal..DO you think these will work with NAD C368? :)
Hey Ron, how would you compare these to the Elac debut reference Towers and the wharf dale evo 4.4s? A review on the 4.4s would be awesome dude!
Hi Ron, thanks for this super interesting reviews¡ I am between this BR08 or Dali Oberon or Optical 5, someone could give a comment about this selection. It is very important where are they made too, those are made in Chine and the Dali in Danmark and the price here in Chile it is equal. Thanks in advance¡
Dali Oberon also Made in China :-( not all Speakers from Dali are produced in Denmark
How low will they go , i know thats the most important but i like to rock , and what mininal amp you suggest
Very nice review, Ron.
Can you tell us the equipment that you use?
Do you think that br08 match with tube amps?
I was using a tube amp, the LTA Z10.
Hi...what would you choose between BR 03 or BR 07 for 22 square meter big room. I have sub and Marantz pm 8005 amp,
Ty
why dont u do such video for SVS pinnancle? by the way, how does it compare to it?
Anyone know anything about the BR09’s?
Ron, I bought a pair of br08 with centre and br02 for rear after your review. Enjoying the sound. However I feel the bass lacking. Do you think adding a 3ch amplifier to my marantz SR5015 avr will help?
You need subwoofer.
@@Mettek23 I have svs pb1000 pro as subwoofer. It is good for movies. For music, Is there a way for me to get more solid bass from br08 without subwoofer? My old Aiwa mini hifi having smaller bookshelf but the bass is strong.
What amps are you driving them with? Is this Digital?
where is the kinki?
I have a Primare A30.1 and the BR08s. Yours sound a little better and fuller than mine on your amp. How much was it?
He placed the speakers in perfect position in the room. Plus he recorded the sound with 2 closefiled microfon. You will never hear in your home what you hear in this video
I recently picked up Bro3 bookshelf on sale for $399 and now I can't sleep thinking about their floorstanders, or possibly the 40th comete to sample up their line.
A few items you pointed out with these came to mind with what the bro3 can do really well:
1. Percussion is a big hell yes
2. Female vocals
3. Brass instruments
They bro3 are far from perfect but what they get right is enough for me to desire going up their line. Quite possibly the Australe ez. I'm just worried that I'd prefer the soft dome of the bro over the titanium in the higher end Australe .. 🤔
Hi ron nice vid where is the link for the 2nd vid? keep up your work TY
It’s uploading now
yah Ron saw it and listened to it, for 1400 bucks no brainer speakers, definitely very good, I listened to it thru my 598s directly from my desktop, was wondering for my room 11.5 x13.5 ft in area, bass might be overwhelming w/ the BRO 8s? leaving my choice w/ the BRO3s, what do you think? Your awesome man your sense of reviewing is improving. Its the reason why I'm following your channel same as zero fidelity and DARKO, keep up the good work guys
Ron, when will you review a big pair of speakers?
They sound nice and detailed, but....but....it seems clear bass is missing on this video, understand now that you mention on another video that they should be paired with a pair of subs. Not for most people to have them additionally in the room.
What is the track at 20:32?
Still waiting to hear the X-LS Encore's with the subs please
How about the br09? 😊
how does triangle borea br08 compare with polk s60? im interested in movies
Haven’t heard the S60 so I’m not sure.
I think I might need a little more brightness.... Maybe it's the mics, but I'm probably just getting old.
Prefer these over the PSBs?
A more apt comparison would be with PSB's Imagine X2T. That would be a really interesting head-to-head.
Just got these. Paid 800$ for a demo pair in mint condition.
Does the first sound clip distort?
It’s the recording - yeah
Let us hear how they sound with Kraftwerks Tour De France, what is your source tidal or music streamer, phone ?
We used to break dance to that in Fall River back in the 80s. It happens to be in my Qobuz library.
bass raised like the Ps Audio Sprout 100
Yeah but that’s intentional EQ. That’s not what we are seeing here. This is room related.
@@Newrecordday2013 on some tracks the bass sounds to much to me (if you can call it that). Your saying the highs isn't to bright, shouty or showing details in a unnatural way, could it be because of the bass is to some extend loud and therfor need a little more highs for the overall sound not to be in the warm category, a little more sparkle, livelines in the highs ?
When will you do a Tekton Lore Reference review?
Tekton is not responding to any of emails. I don’t think they are interested in working with NRD. Thanks!
🤔 - maybe it’s because Tekton doesn’t like honest reviews...?
New Record Day they actually don’t respond to customers willing to buy their speakers either.
@@swiftraider759 you stole my comment.
Getting tired of those carpet sellers.
Can't be getting any real bass from 6" drivers.
I ordered one pair of these in about two months ago. After 80 hours run in, I decide to return them. Mid-bass (around 60 Hz-100 Hz) is boosted in order to get better bass extension in their design. Unfortunately, it is so much boosted and affects the tonality balance. In some music, the mid-bass even dominates and masks the mid-range, rendering unpleasant booming lower end sound. Like Ron said, they are details centric speakers but the mid-bass to bass performance just ... sucks. Very disappointed.
Sorry to hear that! I enjoyed using the NAD M10 with mine as I was able to clean up the bass using Dirac.
Did you have them against the wall or in corners of the room?
@@erics.4113 Not at all. At least 3-4 ft from the front wall. Right speaker has a side wall but it is even further (5-6 ft) away away.
@@lanx0003 most reviewers comment on the tonal balance of this design, but I don't doubt your experience. I feel like they go for the slightly warm and fuller sound, which is most likely down to resonance and elevated bass which may not suit the rest of your system.
What did you drive them with, and what did you wind up going for instead?
@@erics.4113 Back then I think I were using the Parasound A23. Now I got Wharfedale Linton driven by Parasound NC 2125 which matches with Linton better in terms of bass. The damping factor in A23 is high that gives a bit too tight bass to my taste.
£650_700 in the uk at the moment... Bargain
Speakers is elysian 4, not this garbage.
I´m glad you're rich.
