Resilient - Teaser (Parkour Film)

The long talked about project from René Scavington.
It took me years to prepare, execute, and coordinate filming for each line in this project. Filmed entirely in Vancouver, I (mostly) sought out lines that I considered to be “actual parkour”, or more specifically; straight lines doing difficult parkour techniques that are definitely faster than just running around. The good ones are hard to find.
I was ticking off harder and harder lines, with only two to go, and then it all suddenly came to a halt. A seemingly inconsequential bail turned into having tissues removed from my knee and 2 years of feeling like I was watching parkour from a distance. I could have finished the project then, but the more time passed, the more I felt like what I had already done wasn’t good enough anymore. I’m just sharing this to be real, and because it was this negativity that brought out the best in me.
I needed to do those last two lines. So I trained diligently and narrowed the majority of my practice to revolve around two jumps I had never been able to do. But I was running out of time. Another year had gone by, and I knew both physically and mentally that I couldn’t put another season into this project. I also knew I wouldn’t be proud if I left these jumps out of it. So I changed. I ended the long game I had been playing, and I found a way to commit.
