    Amazing job you are doing with these Algarve explaining videos. In one video you made to mix culture, history and help tips. I've to say you gave me info about Lagos I didn't know. From now you were nominated my official history teacher. ;) I want to thank you for your hard work that teaches me amazing things that are under my nose since ever and I didn't know. Cheers mate.

    Hi Nick, many thanks for this great overview of Lagos.
    There seems to be plenty of nice beaches around Lagos especially Praia Zavial.
    As you know these are troubled times and one doesn't know how things will be in the high season 2021. We all need a holiday!
    Learn some Portuguese that seems essential if you are an Algarve Addict.
    "EU falo um pouco Português" that's it!

    Visited a few years ago from Vancouver, Canada...stayed at the Lagos Avenida Hotel...very nice and great location...for food kept going back to Tasca Da Lota by the train station..basic bench seating but excellent food at very reasonable prices. Wanted to rent a motorcycle from Sidecar32 but they required an international driving permit on top of your regular m/c licence; this wasn't required in Lisbon, so get one in your home country before arrival if you want to rent from them. Recommend a boat tour leaving from the marina(cross the pedestrian bridge and you will see the tour kiosks) It's about an hour tour along the cliffs to the West..beautiful...unable to find biltong in Lagos though ;)...nice job Nick!

      Hi Alex, hiring a car is great if you're an explorer, otherwise you'll have to get a transfer which are normally quite pricey. Check out Yellow Fish transfers www.yellowfishtransfers.com/en/home I interviewed them in a podcast back in 2018.

    Can anyone comment on how windy Lagos is compared to other towns in the Algarve, like Portimao for example? Does that wind become a problem in the cooler winter?? Thank you.

    • @AlgarveAddicts
      @AlgarveAddicts  3 роки тому

      Hi Martin, I'd reckon it's pretty similar between Lagos and Portimão as they are only about 15km apart from each other. However if you'd like to go into some in-depth analysis you could sign up for Meteoblue and see 30 year historical wind data: www.meteoblue.com/en/weather/archive/windrose/lagos_portugal_2267226

    Hey, so I am going to be moving to Portugal here in the next few years. I am headed to Algarve. Where I am going to settle there, I do not know yet. I am moving and taking my wife and 4 kids with as well. What is key on our list is a good school to integrate the kids and then a house outside the city. We are obviously not opposed to renting for the first year. Initially, Lagos looks like a good spot but dang our houses expensive there lol. We can move further away from the beaches and $$$ goes down though. Anyway, in your opinion, what would be a great town that would have a good international school nearby. The kids love to bike, kayak, climb trees and rocks, explore, and swim. Thoughts? ty

      It is walkable, and there is a train station for ventures further afield. You could totally do it, although I'm so used to having a car I'd get bored without being able to explore!

    Hi Nick, thank you for the informative video. I am thinking of visiting Lagos from the US and am wondering if the easiest way to get there is to fly into Lisbon and take a bus? Are these beaches in walking distance from the downtown area? Or would a cab be the best mode of transportation to get to each day's destination. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

    • @AlgarveAddicts
      @AlgarveAddicts  2 роки тому

      Hi Dominic, you can take a bus or a train from Lisbon and the main beaches of Lagos are walkable. Otherwise Uber or rent a bicycle. 👍🏼

      Not at this stage, just keep it under 120m and out of controlled airspace. Also do not fly directly over crowds and highways.

    Hi Nick: How much it would be a monthly rent with the possibility of buying a little house with a small yard, waking around 15 minutes to the beach, one bedroom and a 1 and 1/2 baths, a normal kitchen and a living room or family room where 5 or 6 people feel confi. If the small yard has a covered part better. please if you can let me know or reefer me to someone who can help me. I prefer 1st. floor. I preferred coast.
    Thanks in advance for your help. I forgot to tell you the my budget is till know 600.00 dollars a month, I am not including gas, power, internet, and water.

    I have a few questions about COVID 19 down in the Algarve. What are the requirements in the everyday? Do you have to wear a mask when you are outside just walking around in the public? When you go into stores is there somebody there taking your temperature and having you sanitize your hands? Just wondering to what extent they are doing things down in the Algarve? I appreciate any comments that you might have. We are looking at coming this Spring on our Visa. We are visiting Panama right now and they have this going on everywhere. Just wondering. Thanks. I like all the videos. They are very helpful.

    • @AlgarveAddicts
      @AlgarveAddicts  3 роки тому

      Hi Bryan and Cindy, yes masks are obligatory in public (when around other people) and you can be fined if you don't comply. When you go into stores, they control the amount of people inside and always urge you to wash your hands (although all stores except grocery stores are now closed in our current lockdown). I hope that helps.
