Dangerously Fun Surfing 6

Another dangerously fun day surfing with Mason Ho & Sheldon Paishon. Today the waves were closer to reef then usual so Shell doggy takes a new approach and brings his Rip Curl booties. After riding a wave he ditches them and goes back to the usual no wetsuit no booties all reef cuts.

I know, too. And it's one of my favorites. I was very fortunate as a white guy in the U.S. Army to have some very heavy locals that "let" me surf here....
Needs a bit more north. I think Mason knew this when he woke up but went anyway, just hoping.
I'm glad to see it's still so fickle that it keeps it clean. I can remember in the late 80's, Sufer Mag featured this spot with Mike Parsons. The next swell was a zoo. Probably the heaviest local to ever surf this spot....who I'm not naming him either... But he catches more sharks than waves...He looked at me and said, "All dez fukkas? Let me know if someone gets in your way. I'm looking for a fight."
No fighting happened. But..... I knew then that if I was accepted before, I am SOLID now. I made sure my next wave was late, deep, hollow, and in front of him.
Best four years of my life.
