I'm a southern cali boy who moved to Houston in '99......the reason their bangin will never seem official is because their culture isn't rooted in being a blood or crip.....their culture in the drug trade or makin money first and ridin candy painted ol schools....movin from the gang culture to Houston was a dream come true because you're not up against it like growing up in southern cali....I would tap in with Shreveport before Houston and that's absolutely no disrespect to Htine! Living there I never seen rip and blood violence reported on the news.....this is a city that has their own identity and really should have never embraced this culture similar to New Orleans or should I say the real New Orleans.

You right Mic Skot. I'm from Shreveport and it's always been bloodshed every since I can remember. Before the Crips & Bloods it was neighborhood gangs all over the city. Around the early to mid 80's is when LA gang influence buzzed in on Shreveport. That's because people had relatives in LA, which LA is mostly Louisiana people and a lot of Shreveport natives at that. Cats from LA came because of crack and they had family in the area. Basically, if your fam from LA is a Crip, you gon be a crip!! Vice versa as a blood!! But really it was about the dope & money that the Cali cats could make more money in the South. It wasn't like they came and ran niggas out their own hoods and took over. They established mediocre areas, where not much activity is going on, until they were able to connect with street niggas who had rank or was leaders of original gangs in the city. Alot of niggas was influenced by movies, tv, and relatives who were putting it down in Cali. And alot of original sets had a problem with it and started beefing with Cali niggas and killing them. Back in the late 80's around 88, LAPD and LA County Sherrif came to Shreveport and filmed the kaos of the Crips & Bloods. They were observing the gang situation of a small city and how can it be so ruthless and so many drive bys and murders. It's been beef before the LA cats came, and it was beef still pouring over while the LA dudes were there. Big Tookie is from Shreveport and has relevant family in the city till this day. It's other known LA gangstas that's from the Port, but these are influences to a youngster. And yes you can talk to some OG's from the city, who can answer Kev Mac's questions with solid answers and stories. Some of them Shreveport OG'S are living in Houston.

Bottom boys was a gang not to mess with out there and it was impossible for the influence not to be there with those strong family ties......I got family that was representing the rollin 60s out there but naturally the politics are different because of geographical location.....Houston gang bangin looks corny because it doesn't fit them. I would rather them interview about their own culture and get down because that city is unique which is what I loved about moving down south.

Htown is known for dope , hustling and just simply getting money.
