Spot on. The older one you can feel the honey from the opening and it is very strong. The newer one surprisingly, it almost smells like nothing in the opening, a little bit smoky. But then after a while the smell starts to come out. Definitely less of honey. Longevity wise they are probably same but just the newer one does not grab your attention at the start. After a while the smell of the both converge to the same thing.
I just subscribed because you are the first fragrance reviewer saying the truth. Thanks man! This is the kind of videos i want. Someone to tell me if the performance are still good or not, because i had so many fragrances that i regret buying because of the performance.
The performance isn't the issue, and I haven't noticed a change in performance. It's the scent. It's not ruined by any means, and is still an amazing fragrance, but the pre-reform is superior.
I have the newer bottle and lasts about 6-7 hours on my skin. Not close to beast mode as many youtubers say. I still love the smell though, don’t get much tobacco but the fresh opening and honey in mid is phenomenal with nice vanilla tonka base
The reason of my question it’s because I wrote an email to Xerjoff company asking them about this and this was their response: Hello, R Thank you for contacting us. We confirm that the Naxos fragrance has not been reformulated and the fragrance is the same as always. Also, if some fragrances last less than others, they just need to maturate, as our perfumes are made with natural ingredients, it takes time to mature. You can proceed with the purchase normally. Another think that I want to ask you is if you know in what website/online can I get and old batch or Naxos? How can one buy one of the old batches of Naxos?

And that ingredient (between many others over the years) has been banned by IFRA. So it HAD TO be reformulated. It’s not a matter of maturation, I have both versions, with and without lilial. I don’t know of any site to buy the older one. But the new one is more than fine
The longevity is now absolute garbage. It becomes a skin scent so fast it's insane. My parents who hate how loud and obnoxious my collection is, whenever something is too strong they say they can smell me from a mile away, that would be Dior Sauvage elixir, when I wear something that's pretty low key they like it. That would be Luna Rossa black. When Ive been wearing Naxos I literally have to ask if they can even smell it at all. No, they can't. I thought I was just going nose blind because everyone talks about how fantastic the performance is. It's not fantastic, it's the most expensive bottle I have, and it becomes a skin scent within an hour to an hour and a half. And the tobacco note? I hardly pick up on it at all. I'm extremely disappointed by this. I like the way it smells, in fact I love it. But I'm essentially getting only honey and lavender with the faintest faintest but of kick from the tobacco leaf.
I don't believe you lol, you either bought a fake or are lying. Naxos doesn't and hasn't had performance issues. The only change that occurred was in the scent itself.
@@colonelbongwaterfragrances aren’t cars or watches. They don’t perform the same on everyone’s skin. You don’t have to believe someone else’s experience. Something that performs amazingly for you, might to poorly on someone else and that’s fine
I did believe at first the newer Naxos are just skin scent. Because I almost don't smell anything immediately after spraying, but somehow smell gets out after a few minutes and it converges to the same smell of the older Naxos. I also can smell it after a day, so longevity is not the real issue. They somehow have modified the initial stage of it and lowered the honey.

Good to know! I do get way more than that with the newer one. I can usually still smell it on me the next day. My older one is just even better
@@scentiment_ I need to maybe let it macerate a while, just a 6 month old bottle. Is the juice color on your older bottle darker due to maceration?
@@rushabhk8 probably just some ingredients in it like vanillin which get darker with time and oxidation
