You are correct that the amount of worms that spawn are relative to a few different things. One is how many people are on or who play your file, two is the low to high amounts of ore that spawns, three I believe has something to do with the terrain that you use it in. Every time you use the "Thumper" your experience will be different based on these circumstances and possibly a few other things. All in all though, that was very well done!
the dead buffalo ... *sigh* ... it has happened to me soooo often, I will be aiming at a predator in front of me and my shot will miraculously hit a deer, buffalo, or some other animal behind me or to the side of me. "Aim assist" is too OP at times and "helps" a bit too much, that isn't too say that its a bad thing 100%, it just ... gets it wrong when something else is around you and you are being attacked (I just find it happens more often at these times than at any other).

Be carefull what you wish for - I've seen someone being chased around the desert by 2 landsharks! It' was a team of 2 - there was alot of deaths and pick-ups!
haha, I'm guessing it scales with how many ore I respawn. Wonder if it gets worse each time I do it as well?
OK. Finally caught up. Always good watching.
So first observation: lots of charcoal. I feel like a small forest was burned up in the making or converting a lot of spoiled meat. So why not coal? There's no secondary item made and lasts several times longer than wood.
Second up: great job on the interior wood working. Definitely makes a base more like a home. Would've mentioned that during the base upgrade episode but I wanted to catch to current more.
Third: you made the thumper land sharks look easy. Granted, it's only the second time I've seen it in operation. The first was during a "rescue" mission for a family member open world. We met several terrible ends because the thumper was right next to the spawn in location. I believe the land shark count then was the same as what you encountered so there's definitely a hard cap of critters dependant on threat level.
Lastly, looks like you have a modern base. Glad that tiny little area have you what you needed to start and expand into the desert. The drills were also a big, big help. Looking forward to more great content.

When you are moving a bout in the cave, keep watching your buff so you can see how far the dehumidifier works. You lost your buff when you were by the drill.
The thumper is really cool! Are there other machines that do similar effects with animals?
There are extractors that will pull resources out of certain nodes that will also attract animals
You'll need to check what debuffs you get from the worm spit - it's not just poison.
The aim assist can defy logic!
