Really like how you can actually converse with Josh, too many interviewers just ask the basic questions and dont delve into the music and what's behind it. One of my favorite interviews! with any artist

His lyrics represented exactly what I’ve felt about love for years. It took me looking into his actual thought process to realize I wasn’t alone.

This is an interview done in Portugal, I take it. I'm very surprised that this Portuguese interview did not try to connect Tillmans's "alter-ego" to the brilliant Portuguese Poet/Writer Fernando Pessoa - who fashioned several "alter-ego" referred to as Heteronyms, for example - Bernardo Soares, Alberto de Campos, and Ricardo Reis. She missed a great opportunity!
Mark Darnell an heteronym is not an alter ego. And if she was Russian she had to mention Nabokov? Or if she was Spanish she had to mention Garcia Lorca? 🙄
Nabokov, and Lorca did not write under different personas, like Pessoa did! That's why I mentioned him. Your argument is a false equivalency. FJM is doing the something similar to Pessoa, but musically.
