The leopard2A8 is equipped with the L55A1 cannon (in fact, the A7V and A7HU versions as well), which is mentioned in the video for the challenger3! Just as the A8 has active armor (and the same for the A7V and A7HU versions), namely the trophy APS mentioned in the Merkava MK5...
But germans dont use trophy they got their own AMAP-ADS

Mention that most of these features are what the PR branch of the companys highlights - not what nations will decide for or does actually work. Most of the statements are 1:1 taken from the corporate handbook they use to sell ther prodct to nations - which by definition is to be taken with a grain of salt or two.
You're quite safe if imagening most or all MBT's to be unfit for modern battlefied roles.
But as we're not sure who have the most vaporware, we all still advertise our products as top notch and hope all others will turn out to be even less capable as ours.

Merkava Barak is the most advance tank in the world currently. Iron Vision (vision through armor), operability under close hatches, automatic target recognition, close range threat detection, Trophy active protection system, formation connectivity etc..
This IT technology also works with other tanks, e.g. leopard2 A7V, A7HU, which also use trophyAPS...

There’s just one problem, your Merkava is not friendly with tandem cheap replicas of the RPG 7 VR, it’s a real problem, Palestinian slippers, how many of your chariots have holes in them? What about your vaunted trophy? I don’t see that it works against early Soviet-made ATGMs used by Hezbollah, the tank is not bad but there’s nothing to brag about

Not in production or service and at the current state of the Russian economy it will probably be produced less than the T-14 which is produced in the amazing amount of 14-20 tanks.

The new t-80BVM has already 200 tanks so far in the past 3 months which is decent. The sad thing out of of this mainly is that Russia is only going to win due to they having more people fighting the war

Optical illusion: that's because the tank is so big :)
It's not, there's just a lot more turret flanking it than a M1 or a Challenger etc.
The Merkava has it's engine in the front, that means the turret is further back, so a lot of the barrel is inside the turret, it's by design so it's easier to move without the barrel getting caught on buildings in urban warfare.

What the T-72 do on this list? It was made in 1970-79... 50 years ago. It's a museum piece, not a modern main battle tanck.

The Khalid II is basically a licence production Chinese tank. The Russian tanks are neither modern nor a safe place for a crew.
The Leopard 2 A8 is going to be the upgrade used until the German armed forces choose a successor. After that they will probably do another Leopard 2 upgrade to bridge the gap until they have received enough of the new tanks. Panther is still in early prototype form it isn't even the final version just a technology demonstration. It will take a decade to go to the final prototype testing. The French/German cooperation has essentially ended so they are probably going to do a joint development with the Italians.
In the real war in Ukraine, Leopard 1-2 turned out to be useless, no better than the Soviet ones. Even the t54 turned out to be more relevant because of the high-explosive fragmentation shell.
@@BibEvgen learn how to read the Leopard A5 isn't at the frontline yet and only four destroyed Leopard 2 tanks with all of the crew alive. All three dead in Russian vehicles due to the turret tossing. If you want to be a smarty pants you have to be smart enough to read.

Joint Development *has never worked!* I know, you're thinking, "Tornado! Eurofoghter Typhoon!" Compare with the trail of failure produced by joint projects . . . .
Picking up vendors for subsystems is bad enough, but if you have a choice of subsystem vendors is do-able. It is vastly better to design one, make it successful, then license production in many countries that can create unique solutions to problems that can be adopted by many users. This is the opposite of the F-35, where it is produced in one country in a hodge-podge of versions using components made in dozens of countries (some of them avowedly hostile), and only sold widely to reduce per-unit costs not of production, but long-term maintenance!
This "Magrach" version of the M-48/M-60 Main Battle Tank is a good example of taking something that was moderately successful and upgrading it to meet actual needs as a result of battle experience. Everyone in the world should be buying Magrach upgrades . . . and then throwing that trash in to long-term storage, because it is definitely the reserve of the reserve!
Leopard, sole vendor, widely successful. Abrams, F-15, F-16, C-130, even civilian Boeing airplanes, single vendor, widely used, widely successful.

In Ukraine, the main work is done by Soviet tanks. Western tanks are hiding, those that are shown are immediately destroyed. A huge number of Soviet tanks are fighting, and fake movies are being made about Western ones, in fact they are not used in direct contact. German tanks also have their turrets torn off, an English tank, one, also has its turret torn off, leopard 1 is generally destroyed by shrapnel along with the crew.

T-90M and T-14 are your death.
The T-90M is a piece of junk which keeps popping it's turret in Ukraine and the T-14 Armata is a rip off of old, rejected U.S. technology from the 1980's called the M1 Abrams TTB.
There aren't enough T-14s to be considered a threat. Last I heard the Russians cancelled the program because they can't afford it. The only threat the T-90 poses is to the crew in the tank. Especially when the turret pops off like they do in Ukraine. The Russian military is garbage.

@@MrRoninGT They still have em, not many like before conflict, but still they have some and they've been using only for critical missions such as; mapping warzone, surveillance enemy moves, aim assist for artillery etc...
One more thing these drones are capable to destroy couple APC or tanks before they been shot down so TB2 is not indestructible but it gets the job 👍🏻 done.
TB2 replaceable plus it's unmanned means no personnel lost, can we say the same thing for Russians tanks? How many is lost? What about the crews? Are they also replaceable?
