Geierlay Suspension Bridge is located in Mörsdorf in the middle of the Hunsrück and is a perfect option for a day trip from Frankfurt. This breathtaking rope bridge is one of the longest bridges in Germany and was opened in October 2015. 360 m long suspension bridge is just 85 cm wide. I have heard that you can enter this amazing bridge on your own risk. Lol, read that on the official brochure of the bridge. But, it was really cool to be there.
Although the bridge is open 24 hours a day. The best time to visit here for some amazing photography, taking that drone shot is either before 9 am or after 7 pm. There are guards on both the ends of the bridge. There are two modes of entry, one from Mörsdorf and the other from Sosberg.

@@TravelInPink wow so good to learn about that. I have never been to Himalayas and that's on my visiting list. Even I am afraid of height but at this suspension bridge the sideways fencing were so good that the thought of height phobia never occured to me. 😊

That train looks like a really nice way to travel! That's crazy how many people are there trying to get on the bridge too, but we can see why because those views are stunning!
Yeah! The view was worth all the wait! And yeah this was the first trip which we took after pandemic so we were skeptical to go out . But looking at the crowd turning up for exploring the bridge. We thought people have really started exploring !!

If there is a train problem and you end up stuck somewhere, that looks like a nice place to be stuck! The trees on the trail are in a perfect line. Was it a farm or planted that way? WOW...that is not at all what I was expecting when you got to the bridge. That is pretty crazy cool!
Those were the hiking trails which stretched along the bridge. There are around 7-8 hiking trails based on the complexity which you can do here ! Reaching here is a bit of a train ride! And actually you will have to come here on purpose to just visit the bridge. Because it is around 1 hour far to some of the major train stops.

@@DOUGandNIKI Yeah! We absolutely enjoyed the moment when we were actually on the bridge. So all in all we spent complete day to enjoy our half an hour of the bridge. But keeping the current situation in mind when we can not visit crowded places because of the pandemic. It is worth the shot!!

I am staying in Germany only. I believe non essential travel from India to Germany is not allowed right now same as you. So you don't have to be sad about that. And the only reason I was able to explore this bridge was because of the pandemic. I was avoiding crowded places. And it turned up a surprise adventure worth visiting.
