hi, I take the getsafe insurance which works just fine, and add the drone rider to the normal base liability insurance. You can check this out.

Yes at the time of registering you can enter the license. Normally for hobbyist it is okay as I said in the video that it is not required. But I usually get a drone insurance from Getsafe, it cost around 8€ per month. ( I take it one day before leaving for the trip )

Croatian website says I need liability insurance, even for for sub 250g drone if it has a camera which mine does. Do I get liability insurance in Australia that covers me for overseas travel? I can't use Getsafe as it's German. You said in the video if your drone is less than 20kg it doesn't need liability insurance but you don't mention that is only the case if it doesn't have a camera. @@ChasingWhereabouts

@@RuanScholtz Yes if it is covering you for traveling to overseas it should be more than enough for you. I have updated the point where I said about 20 kg part, I have mentioned and pinned that in comment.

No you dont need a license. You just have to register as a drone operator if you want to fly a drone which is less than 250g

Hi Sorry for replying late, up till now i have not been able to find any insurance which would offer people who coming from India. Since all the insurance needs an EU domicile.

There are cases where you can not do that, like archelogical zone and Acropolis and all, but it is okay to fly within 50m, best thing is to get the approval for full day in the some of the places where you are planning and you will get the better idea about that if you can fly or not. Happy Flying

If you are thinking about flying in multiple zones above 100m then try filling out the form that way and do let me know if you were able to get the approval for full day. I did it mostly at the place where I wanted to fly. If you are already getting the co-ordinates of the all fly zone area do let me know it would be quiet helpful for my future visit.

@@ChasingWhereaboutsI watched a german guy about this topic, more recent video, he and commentators indeed talked about applying for a whole holiday at once for the whole island and would get approval without a problem. Also one even got a response (not sure what island) with advice that off season the airport was open for limited time a day and he could fly in that area when the airport was closed. So those are awesome things to read and I might consider asking about that when admitting a request.

@@yspegel this is pretty great information, because when I was applying it for Santorini it was straight away denied for the areas closer to the airport. But then again Santorini is pretty popular.

As long as you're not close to a military/hospital/airport/government Institute, you can fly it if the police doesn't catchs you 😂

You can carry from Germany to India but there are rules in India for bringing a drone you need to get the approval for that. You can search on google and find that out. But it is not as easy as just buying and bringing there. If you are caught they will cease it.

Hi, No you can not use this in places like Fira and Oia these are mostly No fly Zone and you see that mentioned every corner in form of notice. The only place where you can is the Lighthouse, Red Sand Beach, White Sand Beach and early morning within 50m around the Black Sand Beach.

Hi, Thanks for the comment, If you are flying in the park then it is not a problem; I think you still need liability insurance. Also for the relaxation as long as you don't get over the accepted height limit it is okay. But yes the location still matters, I mean you can not do it near the airport and helipad areas or hospitals.
