Potentially the content was "stolen" from existing documentaries. Then in terms of intellectual property (IPr), this may be a collage from other people's IPr. In such a collage, the constituent parts may no longer be recognisably pointing to the original sources. Or it's lack of understanding of tools. Or stupidity. Or laziness. Or has an artistic motivation that you and I do not understand or appreciate. Another commenter: "This footage has been used by other channels! If there's nothing new, like perhaps they dug up and the pit that's underneath that road, then why are you showing us the same old stuff???"
Right!?!?! They dont even bother to take time to lower ambient noise and balance it out. You have the people talking in the loudest, most busy place they could shoot in, and then the narrator comes blowing your eardrums out a second later.
Valdemar II of Denmark died in 1241. More than a century before this battle took place, so should not have been mentioned. It is instead Valdemar IV who undertook this conquest and his real goal was Visby. The Danish crown consistently treated the Hanse as a strategic adversary and knocking off one of the cities belonging to this network was more important than whatever happened to the island itself. Also annoying background music.
Спутать Вальдемара IV Аттердага с Вальдемаром II это надо было постараться. 🙃 Я надеюсь, создатели ролика это исправят, иначе это руинит всё повествование. This was preceded by hard work..... to confuse Valdemar IV Atterdag with Valdemar II. 🙃 I hope the creators of the video will fix this, otherwise it will ruin the whole narrative.
Interesting and so relevant to my world today is your video. So little has change, but so much potential to, hopefully, learn from the past. From the findings I wonder if the lady archeologist, a native, is dissented from from the victors, not the defenders.
I am surprised after almost 700 years, in damp soil, you still find stuff like thin cross sectional iron materials like body armor plates and chain mails. Even swords would be severely corroded till it is hard to recognize at first. A couple of hundred years before this battle, those VIP Vikings that can afford it were armed with Elfburge swords, made of almost pure crucible steel, the technology were lost for almost 1000 years , to be reinvented around mid 1800. Weapons and protection were expensive and highly sought after in those era and who ever came for the bodies would be taking all they can carry with them. At least you are working in a safe area, and in minimum danger of unearthing a Bouncing Betty or other anti personal mines. The modern ones contain absolutely as little metal as they can make it. An anti tank mine is not so bad, a person will not be heavy enough to set it off. A tracked crawler that till the first 12 inches of soil in suspicious areas will get rid of all the small mines and it will not go deep enough to affect the antiques you are looking for.

People should not be allowed to dig up European graves and resting places. It is illegal to dig up Indian graves in the US, are Europeans lesser people. It is morbid curiosity that drives the grave diggers, not "history".
Swedish is hard enough for Swedes to pronounce "correctly.' Expecting an English narrator (who presumably doesn't speak Swedish, as would be a reasonable assumption for nearly 7 billion people) to pronounce specific regional names, with letters and phonemes that don't even exist in English, is a little preposterous. I'm an English teacher. I work in Sweden. No one will ever convince me that "å" "ä" "ö" "y" and Swedish "o" will EVER be even REMOTELY possible for an English speaker to pronounce "correctly." Lighten up. Om det inte räcker att säga det på engelska -- Ta det lugnt. Jag skulle också fråga -- Är du go eller???
Isn't it nice that at one time you were allowed to protect your community.
yupp, better times
Ironic too. The community was taken from them and most of the citizens killed.
thank you for the great history you reveal in these sacred places.
Why do video producers always play the background music so loudly that the viewer cannot understand the narration or dialogue?
It's always a giveaway that the presentation is lacking. I won't be back.

Ancestry DNA says I have a fair % of Gotland ancestry, which I didn't know. Crazy if I had ancestors fighting in this battle.

I really loathe uploads with new changed thumbnails and dates like its new content but then its just the same old stuff from years and years ago.
Why do you have the music so loud that it overrides the speaking voice?
Anyone see dude spit on the other guy 8 min in on the plane? Wtf
You can't do good archeology unless its teeming down rain!
A history channel should get armour from the correct century in the thumbnail.
Why not just scan it with a 3d scanner? Didn’t have one obviously, but surely could’ve gotten one. Idk
Where is the ground penetrating radar?

These ad's keep getting interrupted by a pesky documentary.
It only costs very little to get the ads removed. I bought the ad remover from UA-cam and it is worth it.

Or national request for pictures of cross

You aren’t obliged to watch
Should have been a five minute video
It’s funny how the brits say master as masta. Or if they are trying hard to get it right they say mastare
It depends on the local dialect. Not all Brits as you call them have the same accent, as can be found in any other country
@@Richiedei50 true but none of them can say it including the Scotts
@@andrewsock1608I don’t say Masta but know people who do. With all due respect, I think you generalize too much.
@@Richiedei50 this is google. I am very general when speaking to the world.
wasted watch. whole lotta nothing. very disappointing
So they really found nothing.
Ridiculous. You are actually causing harm by publishing this kind of nonsense.
Why he doesn't go to a dentist? As a professor he is rich enough to pay a good dentist 🤢
Please lose the infantile soup music, I can barely catch the words! 😯

Yes?:)
I love this topic, but if you can't pronounce Gotland and Mästerby correctly, you are not doing good service to the topic.
Reckon your pretty much perfect in EVERYTHING you do???

You could have helped with the correct pronunciation.
