This was great. I wanted to see something like this when I saw the landscape at Ninh Binh and Halong Bay in Vietnam. However, information on this topic is very spare. So thanks for making this 😊
Phenomenal video. Short, precise and contains all necessary information for me to locate a cave beneath the Atlantic so that I can return to France covertly as I am imprisoned on the island of Saint Helena. Regards, Napoleon.
Just an optical illusion. When you are actually at that location, the hills surrounding the basin are actually steep. The place in question is called Lake Disappear in Waikato, New Zealand. teara.govt.nz/en/photograph/12409/lake-disappear#:~:text=This%20ephemeral%20lake%2C%20north%2Deast,fills%20with%20water%20(bottom).
Im from Bosnia and our mountains are made of calcium. It rains a lot here as well. I wonder how old our mountains are and where they are in the process? What is the end stage of karstification? Will everything just dissolve and become a plain?
You know that some bird species evolved in a karstic environments? Thank you for your video, It helped me to underestand de geologic context of some bird species !
Great stuff Darron! Headed to Sichuan this year to check out some of these karsts and caves. Missed out on seeing the Punakaiki rocks due to a road closure last winter. Hope to see them when I'm back home next year 🙏
i know your doing a test so The development of tower karst requires a minimum of 1200mm (the dude says 120 centimetres) of precipitation per year and an average temperature of at least 18 degrees Celsius.

Thanks. I made most of it on a holiday in Guilin, China and had to go elsewhere to get the rest of the footage. It was certainly a fun video to make.
