Please stop saying you’re talking rubbish - these are the bits I enjoy the most - it’s like chatting to a friend and you are so funny! I love your daily videos - they set me up for my days at work!!! Thank you so much for putting a smile on my face every morning for the past week. Xxxx
I like to read paper books, but I like my kindle paperwhite. I can read it in bright daylight or lights out dark. I find it easy on my eyes and can adjust print size. It helps keep my physical inventory down. You seem to get most of yours from the library.
I’m so glad you’re showing us your books. Also books and books only for me too. Isn’t it maddening when you have a nice dinner to go and the cooker goes!! Hard to get over xoxo
I understand how you feel about a real book, I can't read a book from a screen either. The feel of the paper and the smell are all part of the experience. Please tell us your story about Jackie and Debbie, I love hearing your stories about your wee friends.
I’m with you on the kindle, I was keen on getting one but tried to read a book on my iPad first, I couldn’t get on with that so decided not to. I might give the Fury a go , I loved his book The Silent Patient. I can recommend Dorothy Whipple , she wrote books about ordinary English family life between the wars. She is now published by Persephone books in the UK, they might turn up in second hand book stores.?Beautifully written , about a time that has passed. Bridget R
Definitely prefer a proper book. Paula! I am not much of a phone person either, sometimes don’t even look at my phone in a day 😅 can’t beat a Sunday and Antiques Road Show, and the Basic, Better, or Best, love that! Hugs, Suze📚💍🐈⬛🛎️. X
I read all my books via kindle, but i read them on my laptop or tablet and read while i'm knitting. Being an older lady, i love that I can choose the text size and read in bed with the light off! Maybe you'll come back to it one day. Loving your vlogs, as ever. x
Oh you do make me chuckle. You make a drab day, bright. I agree with a kindle, I don’t like them either. I’ve got one somewhere, but never use it. Have a great day.xx
I am so with you on the book front Paula. I am an author myself and spent years getting my book as good as I could get it. Seeing the book with its shiny cover and knowing people would get to hold it and sniff the pages made me happy. You can't sniff a kindle can you.
Paula I'm a book person to❤ I'm so happy I got a bag I've got a brother to go with his 2 sisters lol I have a whole litter now😁 hope Lizzie has a lovely first day back to school x
Never owned a Kindle, I couldn't bear to read from it or have an audio, my mind would wander! I love Books, the smell, turning the pages and bending back the spine to hold better! I like my books stacked on my nitestand!
You made a lovely job of the toys’ outfits. The children will always remember your kindness. Our grown children still have their teddies dressed in clothes their Granny made. I’m definitely a paper book reader too. The Air fryer is good but an oven is like a comfy pair of slippers.😊
I feel exactly the same as you about a kindle. My husband loves his and uses it every day. Me on the other hand much prefers a proper book! I always give a new book a good sniff too. Just nice to handle! Sure your dinner was lovely anyway Paula x
My family bought me a kindle because my house is full of books and they thought it would mean I could get rid of lots of them. It didn't work because I hated using it, it was so uncomfortable to hold for very long and I couldn't flick the pages and make that lovely booky sound. Books. Always books for me.
I have shelves filled with real books - I love having them around. However, as I age (over 70 now), I can no longer read print books. My kindle has become my best friend. It beats listening to books. I agree - we don't need to be the same. Enjoy your books!
Awwww I'm the same as you with books, I love the feel and smell of them and turning the page and finding the best bookmark and choosing the book to read. And really feel for you with the oven, you had worked so hard for your families tea it is okay to speak about it. I would be stressed aswell. Love how Ian rings the bell always makes me smile. Love Di xx
I feel the same about kindle books I listen to audio when am ironing as I do others ironing and can sometimes stand for three hours so it passes the time or if knitting and nothing on tv but I love a real book I joined the mobile library at five years old and used to stand waiting on the book bus coming the librarian man said I was his best customer I devoured books and they were too expensive to buy then
I do love the feel of a book in my hand and turning the pages , I did hum and ahhh about a kindle for a couple of years ,nope you just can't beat the Real Deal and yes the smell of new books 😍 hope Gary feels better soon bless him ❤ my oven packed up and left the building Christmas Eve 2 years ago luckily we know an electrician and he managed to sort it for Christmas but we did have to buy another one as well as the hob hey-ho 😊 time for a cuppa ☕️ take care xx
I totally agree with the kinldle decision, mine has been collecting dust in a bedroom closet! It’s funny as when they first came out everybody had one and now I see so many people with “real” books. There is something about holding a book and flipping through the pages that I love…. AND I’m definitely a book sniffer! Absolutely love your channel and have been trying to watch them all! You have the best sense of humor and should have been a comedian🤣. You and James make a great couple too. I grew up near Canterbury but have lived in the US for 43 years. Love watching English vlogs esp GaynaJane and Ali from little drops of wonderful.
I love a proper book also!! I love turning the pages, using a book mark, & the smell of a book. Now, I do like audiobooks when I am sewing & our library has a lot as does utube. ❤❤😊
I bought a kindle a few years ago for holidays but I hate it as well. I just love the smell and feel of a book. Blackcurrant jam is my favourite too and I love it on toast for breakfast. 😊
😀💕xx thanks Paula. I’m with you regards the books. I don’t like my kindle either. Got to be the real book for me. I ALWAYS get my books from my library. 82 so far this year. 📚🥰
Another wonderful vlog. Hope you get the over repaired. I loved the way you talked about the kindle. It is like being on your phone. I use mine on vacation so I can take lots of books is a travel bag. Loved your shelf tour ❤❤❤
Oh I feel your pain Paula- my oven broke when I was cooking Xmas dinner a few years ago. I had to take my roast potatoes and parsnips to my sisters! We now have a spare element in the cupboard for emergencies! Awful
Lovely vlog Paula. I have never had a Kindle, I have tons of books, I love them around me-fiction and educational I use as a social worker...love the feel, turning pages and smell. I love going to thrift stores. Funny.."Blackcurrant and violent" 😂😂. I think the little guy on the shelf was a platypus??. Hope Gary feels better, and Lizzy has a great first day. Agree that someone needs to design fun bags. They are so plain, and we all have a huge stash because we forget them at home, always 😂 You are one busy lady. Thanks for sharing your life with us. All the best ❤
I bought a kindle years ago and I hated it. I decided to buy another one recently and I thought about all the things I didn’t like (heavy, dark etc) and bought a very light and white coloured one and I love it. No waiting around to get the next book in the series plus books are cheap or free (if you know where to look) that being said I do love a book too just running out of space. You can bookmark pages etc on a kindle although I’ve never done it on mine. Like you say, we are all different and we like what we like, I really hated my first kindle. What a disaster with the oven, better it goes now than on Christmas Day though, hope you can get it fixed soon.
Just re watched and you saying about the Antiques Roadshow reminded me of that episode in The Royle Family when they watched it and had bets on what everything was worth.
I have an iPad that I use a Kindle app on so I can prop it up and read. I like that I can borrow books from the library and read them on my iPad. I also have a Nook Book but find it hard to read on because it’s so small. Glad you dinner turned out ok! I totally forgot that you had a shop update and when I remembered, the kitten bags were sold out! 😿 Oh darn, next time then! 🌸🌼🌻
Oh how I LOVE CHRISTMAS TIME ! In My opinion It is not to early to decorate your Christmas Room when you planned cause time is running so fast , I know from myself, that every year I wish I had decorated much earlier…I think this year I will start already in October! , I will have it all ready to really to relax and enjoy it every day until Christmas is over 🤩🎅🏻❤🎄🤶🏻❤🎄🧑🏼🎄❤🎄…and Snow is very Welcome ☃️🌧️
Paula you may prefer a book size kindle that one is too small to read comfortably I had my kindle when they first came out it’s ok I listen to audible books as I can knit garden walk the dogs hoover etc as it comes through my phone & slips into my bum bag or pocket so easy I’m an audible convert 🤣😆😂
Morning Paula👋Morning Carol! 👋Laura, Jackie and Debbie need a good talking to..spiteful and pinchy.Janet better watch herself.Glad you’re returning the Kindle.Nothing like bending the spine , folding corners and sniffing new pages,eh? Not surprised your cat bags sold out. They are wonderful👌❤️I’m Ryvita girl too and have cooked a few roasts in the airfryer as our oven karked it 4 years ago cooking ceramic hand painted tiles for our back house wall.Bit of juggling but it still works.Have a happy evening, young lady. You are a treasure.🙏👋🐨🦘🌏xx
You do make me laugh Paula, I can’t imagine you being properly ratty. I don’t like Kindles either. I do like getting reacquainted with all the people on your dresser. You’re right, we’re all different but I’ll be putting up the Christmas stuff the week after you, not the tree because that’ll be a real one and it would be dead before Christmas Day, but all the other stuff. Take care xx
Oh my, the oven is the new whooping cough. I’m embarrassed to admit that made me laugh. Laughing at another’s misfortune is completely inappropriate so I do apologize. Real books only. Agreed. xoxo
I have an old Kindle I bought cheap from a friend for 20 bucks years ago. It's in the back of a drawer somewhere, because I felt the same as you. I hated it! I love the feel of a book in my hands. The weight, the smell, the sound, the turning of pages, the crisp clarity of the type. Do you have a local library? I love checking out stacks of novels. I can even order exactly what I want online. And renew them online as well. Free! And they take them all back.
Hey Paula, what do you do with all the books after you’ve read them? I initially read books on a Kindle, but then I got an iPad because it was more versatile for me, but I just ran out of space to store all the books.
My husband hates reading on a tablet or kindle, shame because you can get some really cheap deals, I think you should try a bigger kindle. Can I ask, what is geo cashing ?
Geocaching is sort of like a treasure hunt without treasure. You follow coordinates to find a small hidden container and sign the log book within and also log it online. It is a great hobby, gets you out and about visiting interesting places that you would otherwise never know about.
Hi Paula. I thought, for some reason, you might not make a video today and was so pleased to see you had.❤ There was a bit of everything in this one, which I like. I was thinking you were going to miss Lizzie when she goes back to school, I hope it isn't too much. You can chat to us if you get too lonely. Much love ❤❤❤
I heard a rumour that Jacque and Debbie are planning to run amok in your sewing room with a pair a nail scissors if you don’t read us their story…thought you should know
It sucks, having your oven brake on you mid-roast! I bet it breaking tripped the electric. You never talk rubbish and off course you talk about your oven breaking.
You can't beat a real book can you. I also think Kindle's are rubbish. My son had one and I had a use of it but didn't like it at all. He abandoned it too and went back to proper books.
I agree with you 100%, Paula!!! I prefer REAL BOOKS! 📚❤❤❤
Please stop saying you’re talking rubbish - these are the bits I enjoy the most - it’s like chatting to a friend and you are so funny! I love your daily videos - they set me up for my days at work!!! Thank you so much for putting a smile on my face every morning for the past week. Xxxx

My Birthday is November 23! I will be 62 and every Birthday I put up all of the Christmas treasures. Including the tree. Maybe I am crazy but love it.
I’m so glad you’re showing us your books. Also books and books only for me too. Isn’t it maddening when you have a nice dinner to go and the cooker goes!! Hard to get over xoxo

As you are a person that enjoys rolling your yarn into balls I am not surprised that you prefer a proper book. You make me smile.😀

I love books, the feel the smell.ive just got nine books for three pounds at a charity shop I love it.xxxx🐝🐝🐝🐝
Oh you do make me chuckle. You make a drab day, bright. I agree with a kindle, I don’t like them either. I’ve got one somewhere, but never use it. Have a great day.xx
You can’t beat a good old book!
I agree about the shopping bags, why can’t they be more imaginative and tasteful with their designs! These things matter if you are a visual person 😊
Or an artist.
I am so with you on the book front Paula. I am an author myself and spent years getting my book as good as I could get it. Seeing the book with its shiny cover and knowing people would get to hold it and sniff the pages made me happy. You can't sniff a kindle can you.

I love watching you, your so calming. It was nice to meet your friends that call the dresser home. :)
Definitely agree about the kindle……nothing like a real book. Always watch Antiques Roadshow, if its not on then we watch an old episode!

I made an apple crumble in the air fryer for the first time the other day! A small one, but it worked 🤩
I tried reading on a tablet, but hated it. I like holding a book.😊
I agree don't like Kindles, much prefer books.
Hey Paula, what do you do with all the books after you’ve read them? I initially read books on a Kindle, but then I got an iPad because it was more versatile for me, but I just ran out of space to store all the books.
I need the physical book as well ❤
Hi Paula I’m the same I like a proper book x I hope you tell the story you wrote I’ve been waiting for it x
Why “a boring look round my dresser “? No, it’s not boring, it’s your world, your own and rich world ! Thanks for the visit, anyway !
real books all the way.. You are such a joy
