I caught a Marten on my last run and I was so excited as my line isn't known to have Marten. That is the second one I have caught in 42 years of trapping. I have seen this river in the summer and use to guide for fishing trips on the lake that feeds it. Yes I have snares out for wolves. They were around but no luck yet Fox. Take care buddy

Hi Norm, as always I enjoyed your video---just like being out on the line with you. Years ago I spray painted my main setter a bright red because I also had a habit of leaving them at a set. Awesome video Norm, I would have the gear box rebuilt at 25,000km but there are so many 900 ace in Labrador with 50,000 + kms without issue that I wouldn’t even worry about the engine, they are bullet proof. Thanks for taking the time to make the video, nice Marten. Cheers

Weather is upper 30'sF,,upper 50's "in few days",,,as for hearing bells and seeing that light while back,,too much Traffic for a Lone Wolf✌🏼,,yep the groundhog saw itz shadow,,326 days til Christmas!! lol
Living that far north. I don't know if ya know what a groundhog is but here in the states. We refer to them as fury meterologist's who live in a hole they dig out in the ground & only do one weather report a year on February 2nd. Well l hate to break your heart Norm but that fury meterologist Phil Groundhog said spring will be 6 weeks early this year.
Interesting your first ermine, with all those martin im sure the ermine are pretty low numbers, maybe marten eating them , im on southern Ontario, and we gpt ermine everywhere and not a lot a martin atall so just makes me wonder ya kno.
Great video as always Norm. Why would those Marten and rabbits cross the river. There must be a lack of Hawks and Owls . That would be easy pickens for them.
They are not changing bud. This is a family channel. It’s why I do them like this. If all people wanna see is tips on trapping or dead animals it’s not happening. Lots of channels doing that. Never me. Here and there for this channel. Plus it’s so boring to edit that type of filming. I need more not just shots of animals in traps. 👍 take care

💯 I didn’t go into detail but there are guys running them for many miles. I’m comfortable with 20k miles then rebuild. We will see.

They are usually ready in the morning. I can leave them in my porch if I need to till later that night if they are thawed. Porch can be cooled easy.
