ramesh p , GK Venkatesh was using all types of instruments. Also GKV introduced a new type of Drums in the film Operation diamond rocket during 1970s itself. He was ahead of his time.
Not only that GKV is a king maker. He had used more than 60 musical instruments at a time, no music directors uesd earlier. He is the man who introduced many new instruments. Moreover, he re- recorded many songs for other music directors, this is because of his deep knowledge & new ideas.
This song used to come in chitramanjari in DD1 on thursdays...8 pm to 8.30...we had b/w bush tv.....those were very nice days...miss those

Janakiyamma is the real Bharathada kogile.
Further, both G K Venkatesh and Janakiyamma would have got National award for this song. But,in Kannada film land most of the awards were grabbed by the so called experimental films of Karnad ,Karanth, Kasaravalli. etc .Because these hypocrytic intellectuals were having the backing of both state government and Central government. Good films like Bangarada manushya ,Boothayyana maga Ayuu, Sharapanjara, Gandhada gudi, Nagarahavu etc did not get any national award.
Artistes like, Ashwath.Balakrishna,Narasimharaju,GV Iyyer,PB Srinivas,Kalpana, Jayanthi, Leelavathi, Ananthnag, MP Shankar, etc Music directors like GkVenkatesh, Rajan Nagendra, Vijayabhasakar , Upendrakumar, Rangarao, and many others did not get any award. Even a director like Puttanna kanagal did not get any award. Shame on Karnataka govt. which always ignored our film artistes. Very unfortunate.

I like ppl who love to do their work rather than work for the award.
B G Raghunatha Rao exactly said, with all the backup support, thr so called intellectuals have multiple awards, but no one has seen there movies, puttanna is the greatest director of all time, shankar nag and puttanna was bringing up the our industry to a level where every industry should peek on us, Ilayaraja is celebrated all over, but for me G K Venkatesh is the all time greatest composer along with Rajan-Nagendra duo and Vijaya bhaskar, our people will praise others but no one will point out greatest composers anywhere, very disappointing on our industry people, I don’t respect our today’s kannada industry for the same, Ilayaraja even though worked under GKV for more than 200 films, he doesn’t take his name in any public functions, instead he praise all other musicians of north and south, such behaviours really hurts, same with bharathiraja who worked under puttanna....
