thermos aka dewar flask. if anyone is looking to cook larger volumes, they should look up an 'airpot' (ie a coffee dispenser) on amazon-- this biggest ive found so far is 4 liters (!)

thanks why not pour the hot water you pre-heated the thermos with into another thermos instead of pouring it away to conserve energy, :)
