what a great memory! One of my proudest days. Thanks Reagan Foundation for posting it! Great to see on the 30th anniversary of our graduation. Strength as One!
What a way to start a military career. He was as good as his word, and gave us the pay and equipment he promised. The military he built was the best trained, best equipped of any peacetime Army, ever. He also shook the hand of every graduate that crossed the stage that day. Not that my friends, is what leadership looks like. I'll be that cadet saber is in his presidential library. USMA '81, Strength as One!
I was there. Sitting to Reagan's right, below platform level, on diploma detail. I asked Ed Meese for Reagan's autograph and he obliged. I gave it to my Mom. I remember looking at his eyes and thinking, "He looks older than I imagined". It was an honorable day.
Wow. I was there. On diploma detail, sitting to Reagan's right, below platform level. I had asked Ed Meese for Reagan's autograph, and he obliged. I gave it to my Mom. I believe this was his first public appearance after the assisination attempt. I remember looking at his eyes and thinking, "he looks older than I imagined". It was an honorable day.
