It's good to see a conclusion to this fine project and congrats to everyone involved and to your goodself for the excellent video updates over the last few years. One thing that annoys me is driver behaviour when coming from the east - two lanes merge into one just before the tunnel; the proper way for drivers to negotiate such merging lanes is to use both lanes to advance to the lane reduction point and merge at that location, alternating turns. Instead, I regularly see a long queue of traffic on the left lane and the drivers who - rightly - decide to use the right lane and drive ahead of the queue are resentfully regarded as jumping the queue and the other drivers often try to stop them merging. Merging in turn in fact is the most efficient way of reducing the congestion and it should be actively encouraged.
Thanks for all your great videos. We would have been in the dark a lot of the time if it were not for you. Merging at peak times is a problem as well as the speed limits at the moment. It will be nice to see the back of the cones.
Well done for all your videos they've been top notch. This project is going to be looked back on as a terrible waste of money. People in Cork don't like merging or more so people in Cork think merging is somebody trying to get ahead of them so this layout with so many merges simply won't work here. I come from the little island exit every morning and have to merge for the tunnel and every morning when I put on my indicator the car in the lane I'm merging to will speed up to block me,its like people think you have a cheek to want to merge anywhere in Cork. I know it's not the design of the road at fault but it's just not suited to the terrible driver behaviour in Cork . Then coming the other way home through the tunnel you have people from bloomfield in the outside lane heading for the M8 going 70kph the whole way holding everyone up. There's not a single traffic light now for about 6 months coming out of the tunnel yet its the exact same everyday from 4 O clock with traffic almost back to Douglas and for no visible reason.

I can imagine trying to stay at 60kph with a hgv driving up your arse.Great fun..
