The most frustrating part of the Dash...the inventors did not consider cleaning it. Thanks for the video!
I just clean it with a sponge and soap and rinse with water only rinsing the inside with a squeeze bottle over the sink. Just hold the waffle maker at an angle.

Now they came out with removable plates
It is worth noting that using a detergent cleaner on a waffle plate is never recommended ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxUfphIgghPSpAXNq6OG2WRYsFVqylcqMn though people who don't understand about kitchen hygiene won't understand that a stiff brush is all that is necessary to clean the inside of the unit. Let it cool slightly but still perform the cleaning while it's warm. I used to have a Black and Decker unit that I just loved, and was concerned when we had to replace it that I might not find one that I like just as much. This one does it for me.
When still hot, I use a slightly wet scrub brush, (scrub fast so the brush doesn’t melt), and I get into the grooves all over the whole thing. Then I steam it with a damp paper towel after. Works awesome and it is much faster!!

I’d probably use a little tiny bit of white vinegar and warm water to get the oil off the outside and keep it nontoxic all over. 😉
THANK YOU for doing this!!! Just used my dash for the first time yesterday to waffle the mashed potatoes and then I thought...how do I clean this thing so I can now waffle the pancake?? I wish Ashley had a video to show how to clean it. And here you are!!!! 🎉🎉🎉

Thank you for sharing ❤ just found your videos. Love your presence. I would suggest the use of either vodka or rubbing alcohol to disinfect the inside. No residue is left inside and it won't corrode the coding. It really needs to be disinfected against raw meats and eggs.

I love how cute their products are, but I just find this waffle maker pretty inconvenient to clean. I would like to be able to actually wash my waffle maker, not just wipe it down
