I can only guess that it took the "true ending" (Sacrifice Ending) to make the spiritual successor happen. Also, the characters of the new "Ratatan" have resemblance to Patapons, while evolving into chibi styles. Then there are new inventions of instruments, and more civilizations. Though that's just my personal thoughts of Patapon 3 leading to Ratatan.

Its also highly hinted that Decadon or whatever the blue dragon guys name is actually also dodonga from patapon from what Kickstarter shown

AI upscaled textures + 60 fps cheat
60 fps cheat is great. Although, some parts of the game are a bit sped-up (like enemy cannons). You also de-sync pretty often in multiplayer.
