Despite the larger throttle body the LS2 manifolds don't make more power than a LS6 manifold , Apparently GM changed the way that they made the manifold ,the LS6 manifolds were 1 peace construction where's the LS2 made from 2 pieces , when they joined them together they tended to leak internally , disrupting the flow and pressure waves, a FAST intake fits under the bonnet a may be a better option
hi guys love your channel asking some advise ive got a stock vx ss ls1 ,auto , does have blackops cat back exhaust , im fitting a proflow tunnel ram and twin throttle bodys ,not looking for big power just a nice lumpy idle ,would the crow 1212 cam be ok for this set up ,any help would be great cheers guys
The test comparing an LS1, LS6, and LS2 intake manifold in the book “Dyno - proven GM LS1 thru LS7 (SA133) by Richard Holdener” Actually showed the the LS6 manifold with 78mm throttle body made more power than the LS2 manifold with 90mm. The test was on a LS2 crate motor. Peak power was 3hp down but it lost power through the entire range. 14hp loss @ 5300.
@@Pittaz although these tests are generally great, they can’t be taken as gospel for what is a very dynamic system. An engine fitted like this with quite a large cam has very different flow dynamics to a crate ls2 and will test differently. This being said, even from our own testing, in our opinion the cost does not outweigh the benefit. But once you get to this kind of power output the ls6 intake does become a restriction plain and simple. Any changes in intake design is going to be a compromise somewhere in the curve, but again, where this is changes greatly depending on numerous parts of the dynamic system.
Quick question , i have purchased a ls3 crate engine for my vy ss , if I want to keep the fly by wire Throttle body , what do I have to do to be able to run that ?
@@jameshohmann535 we have since had experience with a handful of different kits in the market and can say its just the platform. Very difficult to fit an LS into
Can the 1212 be very choppy on idle without stalling? (Ls1 auto) Because my tuner tuned most of the chop out and reckons the car might stall if he tunes it back in which I’m wanting him to do but he’ll charge me $1k if he has to fix it again.
Love it. Those VR exec hubcaps are magical. I want em.
I hope reproductions are made one day, but probably on my own with that one lmao 🤣
She was puffing some smoke
Yeah saw that!
400rwhp in that will still net a sub 11.5 on radials i reken!. Killer build!
That Mighty Boy looks ripe for the picking, in regards to modifications...Cheers boys.
Yew that's mint! That would be similar to my set up, with the 243 heads slightly different cam but similar

How much do dirty south charge for the LS to VS harness and the alternator harness?
Have a watch of Mindej and his ls vn. Used a vcm otr seemed like it fit pretty easily while laying the radiator back slightly
@@danielcantrill3104 I’ll have to go have a look cheers!
@ it may work. Your radiator seems to maybe sit a bit higher

@@vSquiirTz i would not pair the 1212 with a stock converter. I would go 2800 minimum, 3200-3500 ideally
