It sounds like this club has a location that is secure from being kicked out, which is a major plus these days as we hear news of clubs losing their building or space. A lot of operation appears to be fit into this restored depot. I enjoyed this video as I spend many of my teen and early twenties in the Davis/Sacramento area and up to the Sierra's. I remember mostly seeing SP SD45's and tunnel motors on those trains, and some SD9's. When I was staying at the Travis Lodge near Soda Springs, sometimes I was treated to a freight train blasting out of the nearby snow shed. I now life in northern Virginia near DC, but if I'm ever out that way, I'd enjoy seeing the layout. Nice tour!
Thanks for the great video .. have to say some of the scenery is a bit too simplistic to be amazing compared to a few others layouts but the trackage looks fantastic and overall control is terrific ..
It will be VERY nice when the manufacturer of model trains figure out that we aren't going to drive at 90 miles per hour and give us a higher gear ratio for smoother and more accurate controls.
Very nice. I wonder if the number of passenger cars in that train is prototypical. Also, the use of two bunker cars that seem more like they go with the "Big Blow" turbine locomotives. Not criticizing, because I don't know. I'm just curious.
You are somewhat correct, those are models of tenders off the actual big blow turbine locomotives that Union Pacific replumbed as auxiliary water tenders for the steam program.
Can't believe John Armstrong did the layout . Have all johns book. Thank- you so much

If you ever come out on holiday, you'll know all the best places to visit!
I am sure I have asked this question on another video?
But how come this video along with a few others, get published twice?
The answer is in the description.
