Hi! Thank you for this tutorial. i have made one like this but I used the pastillas ingredients instead since it is less sweeter than fondants.. I hope u can try pastillas too. A bit challenging than fondant, but I bet u can do it. You are good at this art.
Hi MsC Vlogs, thanks for the input! Yes, usually fondant is just for a decoration of a cake, rarely to eat it, I guess xD. There are also those who make it themselves from marshmallows, and of course it's still sweet Lol. Yes, of course, you can make the cake toppers with healthier ingredients, like pastillas!! Hi Ear Candies.. maybe you can get it at a cake tools shop. It is a small ball tool, usually it is sold in set, fondant tools set. 😊
How long in advance I can make this? I am trying to make a dinosaur cake for my son. But I want to start making this dinosaur earlier so I have more time
Lory, for triceratops, you can make 3-4 days before making the cake. especially the body and head should be dried first so that it become sturdy/hard. I dry the fondant in the AC room overnight and usually it's already hard, but because the triceratops body is quite big, I will probably dry it for 2 days. But now many bakers are using CMC when making it, to harden fondant in short time. But I've never tried it, maybe I'll try later😄.
